The recently issued SAK bone-scaled Kasemesser, or Cheese Knife, is actually a total symbolic tribute to the Swiss Cheese & Dairy industry. Its main blade, of course, is for slicing cheese and is marked “Swiss Cheese Knife” in 4 languages; the reverse is marked “switzeland-cheese.com”. Its scales are made of horn, cow horn, and the so called “Milk-Stone,” Galalith, is not actually a stone but plastic made from milk protein and was a common source for the production of buttons.
