FYI, The new weapon oriented one piece tools (though, more than one piece) are now available for viewing on the Leatherman website. I like these but I don't really have a need for a dedicated weapon tool. Depending on price, I would be more drawn towards the Pump. Seems to have more appeal for general purpose carry than the other two models, except it doesn't have a carabiner. Oh well, maybe next year.

If that long piece on the right next to the wrenches on the Cam and Pump also serves as a pocketclip, then I hope they have some kind of a cover for the strap cutter. I'm not familiar with firearms so I can't comment on the functionality of the tools.

scope adjustment tool for a shotgun?
I want to like all of them but as you say they're all a bit too specific.

The tension bar is a slick idea, and I love that it has slots for regular 1/4" bits and Leatherman's flat bits. I like the gut hook, as it is the only good way to execute a blade on a OPT like this. And I like that some of them have carabiners - but none are the total package for my interests.
Dedicated slug guns benefit from a scope.
I wouldn't want to use that tension bar as a pocket clip, like you are saying, that gut hook would kill you.

LM new lineup of pocket tools look intereseting but seems too specific for me. Plus, as stated before those gut hooks are a little scary to be in my pocket. The others like the Hail & Rime also seem rather specific; geared towards snowboarders but can be more useable to the general public

I sort of agree somewhat. As a collector, I will need one of each though. Pondering how hard these will be to get up here in Canada.
A little Leatherman information.

I have a hunting bow and use it whenever i can. I think the cam is well thought and designed and the broadhead wrench is a neat feature. But in all honesty it doesnt give anything any other multi with pliers and bit driver offers if you already have one. Also pliers can replace the broadhead wrench, help with wire cutting should you need it for a problem with your sight or arrow parts. You dont need that much specific tooling for archery anyway.
So if you are not carrying anything else i think it would be a nice enough tool.

I agree with the" way to specific " comments...what's going on at the Leatherman design studio ? I just wonder how many of theses very narrow use tools they think they will sell. It seems like their original multitool concept is getting watered down somewhat.

Not sure if I agree with you there Jerry.
I think in order to sell product, Leatherman will keep having to design new "niche" tools that appeal to specific user groups. They will keep producing general purpose multitools as well no doubt, but I'll bet we see more and more of these specialty tools.
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Maybe j sews...but ARCHERY...? don't you think that is stretching it a bit....sorry about the pun.
3 different type of snowboarding tools..? Isn't the paring up the style ps a bit odd for that activity,it's very light duty tool...Will anyone want to clamp their delicate iPod into a tool that could get wet or be used under tension ? And will anybody actually use those headphone organisers, especially with gloves on..? Some of these just feel like they are just selling the Leatherman brand printed on the side.
I get the idea of the diamond file on the skeletool for climbing,it does feel like bit of a cheap shortcut to me,but that is just me being a collector and not a climber.
What about a more cycling specific tool with tyre levers and hex bolts for example ,surely way more popular.
Don't get me wrong I love Leatherman, its a great brand, but look at gerber and some of the silly ideas they have produced and the cheaper manufacturing involved with theses to make them.
its great to see them expanding their products..but keep it real ....just throwing some of my opinions into the pot....
