Given the weather forecast I suspect the dunking stool is going to be a strong option. ;)
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Got the rest of the shopping done today for the marinades and "sides", plus the obligatory beer and wine so I'm just about set  :tu:
I just hope my car's suspension can cope with everything I'm bringing

Packing. So how big is your truck again al?

Yesterday I was looking at how much stuff I'm taking, and .....  I was planning on bringing my big BBQ to help cook it all on, but that might be the first thing that gets omitted from the plan. If I leave that out I reckon there might just be room for us two to get in the car too  :D :D

This morning I got a knock on the door, and it was the delivery driver with the rest of the meat from when the order went wrong. With the way we currently have things planned, there is no smurfing way we are going to be able to eat all this, especially if TaxiDad is bringing some lamb chops too. If we follow the plan, we've got to eat about 5kg of meat plus side dishes in one sitting only a few hours after we've had a fill of haggis

Sooooo .....

I can either reign back on the quantities, but even then we'll probably be overfaced OR we could split this into two sessions and all have some Sunday lunch before we all go home. The problem there is the BBQ will be hot when I need to pack it away  (just nipped out and picked up some disposable party sized BBQs) The final option is have some of it Friday evening, which means John and Michael will miss out on something.

I need to know your preferences pretty quick (tonight) chaps, as if we're eating any of this stuff Friday evening I need to start letting some defrost. A sensible option would be frogs legs and python Friday evening (with hot spiced chickpea salad, and beetroot and smoked sage cous cous), and lamb/camel/kangaroo/pheasant on Saturday (with veggie kebabs and lentil dhal). Still have sausages for breakfast Sunday? BTW - Pheasant will now be filled with Parmesan and wrapped in bacon

For the record - I don't blame Kirky - I blame that Lamontagne geezer! If he'd do what he keeps threatening too and come over to gatecrash one of our meets and give us a hand devouring this stuff we might have been alright  :pok: :pok: :P

So a bit Friday night, a bit Saturday night, a bit Sunday lunch?

I know that's leaving some people out of interesting things on Friday but you've got it and it would be nice to eat something on Friday!

I do feel a bit mean on TD and Kirk though :/

Anyway,

I'll go with your idea Al  :tu:

I got the 24 eggs (chicken,   :twak: dang ducks) then popped in to the shops on the way home,
picked up two of those very wide french sticks and bacon, also some ready cooked rice for a side dish or two  :)
I also got some coffee, UHT milk and sugar, might need more bread and milk

Off to fill my car with wood, BBQ tent etc etc et in a min  :ahhh

Well now it's Tofty too  :-\ I'm going to cut back a little on quantities anyway. Still 48 Frogs legs, but only 500g of Python instead of 1kg (between 5 of us). There's the spicy chickpea salad and cous cous too so we'll not be hungry. Also for Saturday night I'm only going to bring 2 x 350g packs of the kangaroo and camel instead of all three, but again there's still TD's lamb chops, half a pheasant breast each, lentil dhal and veggie kebabs so full bellies all round I'm sure  :tu: I've also got 36 sausages (zebra/llama/reindeer) for Sunday morning, and Farmman told me he's picked up some gammon steaks too. If we're still there Sunday afternoon (or some of us are) that'll prob involve polishing off whatever didn't get used before

I'll go with your idea Al  :tu:

Tony, Mark was talking about getting more bread and milk in tomorrow morning, so we're all set there  :tu: We'll be leaving Mark's about 11 tomorrow, which should line us up for ariving about 1:00 - 1:30 (ish) depending on traffic and conditions. Maybe me, Gareth and Kirky should have gone over a few days earlier with the air rifles to "have a word" with the ducks first  :D :D

I've got the cooking gear (stoves, utensils, tuperware etc etc) in the car, along with camping chair, and a few other bits. I'll be loading the rest in tomorrow morning as I don't like leaving "gear" in the car overnight ..... need to go and take the python and frogs legs out of the freezer now so they'll be defrosting  :tu:

Quick note for those who haven't been before - bring a chair  :pok:

Well, the car is pretty much full ... and I've still got to collect Farmman and all his gear yet  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh If he's bringing more than a toothbrush, this is going to be a VERY tight squeeze  It'll be a lot easier coming back, as there's be four boxes of food that I won't need to find room for, plus beer and wine  ;)
