WOW!: Dorcy 1W CR123 LED FLASHLIGHT

Well, I finally got my ARC-P today. Yoohoo! Sweet, TINY, light. It's one thing to see pictures but I can't get over just how much light it puts out, especially for its size. I know, I know... s'pro'lly all been said before.  Anyway I am sad to say the Dorcy is still considerably brighter than the ARC-P. I was hoping the ARC-P would be at least as bright. Still, I'm going to give Dad my Dorcy for his car and keep the ARC-P. Considerable field testing will occur tonight. 

I love my ARC-P.  I agree with you that the Dorcy is brighter, but it is also at minimum twice the size of the ARC right?  And it uses those expensive 123 batteries also...I go thru quite a few of those in my Surefire E1L Outdoorsman. Now that is a bright compact light IMO. Have fun field testing it

Diggin' up an old one here, but..

Any updates from folks with premium Dorcy lights?

I know they mostly make cheap-o junk, but recently I found out that they are headquartered here in my hometown. Yeah, the production takes place in Hong Kong, but they employ a large team at the headquarters, which also houses all packaging and distribution.

So while not US made, they are a part of my state's job base. This makes me want to at least buy one light.

Heck, nearly everything else I am looking at is made in China with no jobs here at all. Peak, LRI, and Pentagon being the only exceptions I can find that make a AA light. And LRI is the same as Dorcy... designed here, made there. Pentagon and Peak are made from imported parts.

I read that the AAA K2 is a hell of a light from the Dorcy line. Anyone own one of those?

I can't get over how bright it is for such a small light.

I have 3 of these lights.

I replaced the stock Luxeon emitters with Seoul U-bin P4 emitters and almost doubled the light output while maintaining the same runtime.

FWIW I still find my Fenix LOD Q4 extremely usefull. It's resided on my keychain for 1+ years now and never let me down. I bought a Jetbeam Jet-II Pro and love it, however I must admit I am thinking of selling it. Its size doesn't lend to EDC as well as the Fenix does.

I have an L0D Q4 as well, amazing light for it's size.

I have a good ol L0D P4, managed to crack open the head but fenix apparently use hard epoxy (can barely scratch it with mini screwdriver) to hold the emitter in place so I haven't bothered to try to replace it yet.
