Victorinox Key Ring
on:
January 20, 2014, 03:01:54 PM
It appears that practically every SAK available today is fitted with the keyring attachment/split ring apart from 4 of the Pioneer range e.g. Solo, Pruner, Electrician and Harvester. I know some people don`t like them and file them off but I`d rather have the option of the attachment. Has Victorinox ever offered an explanation for the omission of the key ring from these 4 models or can anyone hazard a guess?

Just a guess: they are professional pocket knives. The alox degrade colorwise when in touch with keys.
My (Green) Harvester has a keyring though.

Ive always wondered the same thing, it seems kind of random to have a keyring on a pioneer and farmer, but non on electrician or pruner.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

In the past it has been an option on some models. For instance, I have a Pioneer without keyring and a two 84mm Climbers, one with and one without.

I believe there were more than four alox models without a keyring attachment... Unless we're just talking about current production models.

To mix things up, my old Compact had a super crappy keyring loop extending from an aluminum liner. Hijinks ensued. That's the only Swiss Army Knife keyring I ever managed to snap off through regular use.
Well, through
my
regular use. The Compact isn't quite as general-contractory as some of my other SAKs. Or, in fact, as
any
of my other SAKs.
