Some years ago an old friend some distance away died.  He was a peculiar old fellow, and essentially left all his vast collection of stuff for his friends to gather as they liked.  I was not among the first, but got lots of scrap metal and some tools and bits and pieces left behind.  I missed a lot, but after many more obvious things had been acquired, I found under some stuff on the toilet lid, a Benchmade knife!  It seems a little hard to pin down exactly what an old Benchmade is, but this one seems to be an 800, with ATS-34 blade.  It's had a good bit of use and been sharpened a few times, but it's still pretty decent and sharp.  Not the kind of thing one often throws in a pocket, but it is added to the collection of knives almost all of which have come here under odd and fortuitous circumstances, and along with bits of scrap metal and hydraulics and oddments, an opportunity to remember an old friend and say "Thanks, John."  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Added a new Benchmade to the fam.

I've been wanting to pickup an Osborne for some time.  The copper look aluminum handle came out and I thought "this is neat" and it comes with CPM Magnacut blade, so that seemed interesting as well.

Cannot stop buying Benchmade knives.  I really like them quite a lot and they are crazy sharp out of the box (yup, I cut myself with the new one first day.   :dunno: )

This one is a full size Bugout and I was actually surprised at the size.  I'd thought my previous Bugout was a regular, but it turns out it was a Bugout mini (I'm quite sure I knew it at the time of ordering) and this is a really nice size.  Incredibly light and solid.

Cabela's/Bass exclusive and the price was quite a bit lower than the regular Bugout pricing, so how do you possibly say 'no'?  Think that brings my total number of Benchmades to an even half dozen.

You may or may not be familiar with the advice to not go on eBay when you've been imbibing?  Yeah, same applies around Black Friday and online retailers.

I already had a very, very nice Benchmade Osborne with copper scales and magnacut blade so not really needing another Osborne.  Sure enough, Black Friday, made the mistake of looking at my favorite Canadian online retailer and sure enough, they have the new-ish Osborne mini, both in stock and on sale for $100 off retail.  My favorite color is green and you just add it all up and here we are.   :dunno:
