Looks like a good peening job to me Steve.  Did the metal seem to bend less as you hit it?  Maybe it was work hardening?

Heating this type of special metal does just the opposite. I tried it before once.

I missed my pliers too much with the CT28. I made a CT31. Before, after and comparing it to a CT29 and CT34. I use my pliers all the time to pull off stickers on the test equipment I calibrate. Pliers are easier than using my fingernail.

That looks like a great mod. The 28 appeals to me more though, might have to try that one. I wish Vic did more models with the combo tool instaid of the small blade. Where did you get the 91mm combo, out of a Compact?

thanks to all, this weekend was very productive i finished this too

bull horn scales and file work hunstman, i really like the colours of these scales, the funny thing is that you dont know what the knife is going to look until the end polishing process.

1st is the madplumarian (surprise)
2nd is pioneer with pliers
3rd is red old cross with pliers
4th is my black cadet with scissors and saw
5th is Ashley's farmer add scissors and a special compact

These are in no particular order except that mads is first up. Pics to follow when completed.

I'm making a red Pioneer with pliers for my EDC as soon as I can track down red scales. I'll call it the Alox Mechanic because I just like saying Alox Mechanic. Are you using 2 saw springs for the pliers? They work perfectly with no modification.
