Good stuff jaya
Recently finished this one... Just slimmed down a Swisschamp and took out the wood saw and fish scaler... Also replaced the chisel for a fine screw driver and rearranged the layers. Now I have a multi tool dedicated for SAK modding... Think I'll just call it The Modder (for lack of a better name) (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)No sooner after The Modder was completed, it was called into service. Assisting on another build by removing scales, pulling out bushings and filing flat pins pre-peening and filing out excess pins before putting on new scales. Thanks to The Modder, I now have another Yeoman for EDC...(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Added another couple of layers to this one.(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Same layout as one of my early mods:I call mine the Deluxe Modeler.
Great stuff jaya! I love the Yeoman

Has anybody tried doing a bladeless 91mm SAK? Would it be possible to retain the corkscrew or back layer phillips? Tried fitting one on a scissors layer replacing the hook. Unfortunately there is no backspring tension.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use an old Wenger with scratched blade to remove scales. Thinking about sharpening the awl so I can mark the center of pins for drilling. Doesn't have metal file though. I forget the name of that watch makers knife, watckmakerhöffer or something, seems like it would be useful for working on saks. But expensive. Are you using a drill press to drill out the pins? Thats what I do but it's a cheap one from Harbor Freight...Americans will know that store, very low quality tools for cheap. It wobbles...not very stable.I think next I wanna do deluxe yeoman/aka yeoman mechanic but the only thing is I want an awl. I suppose I could give up the hook and add spacers to mount the awl on the scissors spring. But then...no nail file anywhere on the knife...How many yeomans do you have now??
I took a Cybertool 34, removed the opener layer, replaced the corkscrew with the awl, changed the scales with hand-made aluminum ones (not anodized though), and added a pocket clip.

Jeez. I'm gonna quit. Top rate stuff there. How did you cut out that area in the scale for the pliers rivet?
Very nice j-manzal! Did you have to tinker much with the corkscrew spring to fit the metal file? Lovely combo - might have to have a go at one myself in the future.

Nice tool set.And if a blade is needed, it can always be complemented with an Alox Solo or some other folder!

I used a dremel with an 194 High Speed Cutter attachment equivalent, and a whole lot of patience.I had to constantly stop and check with the callipers, to make sure I had taken enough material out without ruining the scale.I worked out ok. I could have kept the original tool layout, but that would require a liner next to the scale because of the cybertool, and it would add to the overall thickness of the SAK.Ideally it would have been done in a CNC machine, but I don't have an easy access to one, and it's way more fun (and a bit nerve racking at times) to do it miself!

Turned out great! Looks CNC'ed in the pic.
Finally had a moment to test fit my 84mm build. Thanks to GigaHz for helping me source the WS layer.I was gonna try some kookier stuff but in the end its just a "Huntsman Small" with a nail file instead of small blade. Thought about doing a backside phillips but the corkscrew won out.Hoping to get this peened up tonight...wondering if theres a way to mod the scales to fit a pen (old style removable 58mm if the 91mm pen wont fit)
Can't wait to see the final result James. Is that a standard 84mm scissor I see?
