Classic Movies
on: June 19, 2008, 07:10:24 PM
I'm just watching one of the all time greatest classic movies of all times... Cannonball Run!

There are few movies that I can enjoy watching over and over and over and over again, but this is one of them.

Anyone else like this one?

Watch it again... it's a classic!  If you look closely, you'll even spot a young Jackie Chan, who was told he'd be the lead in the movie!

She was married to the author, film director, screenwriter, producer John Carpenter back in those days.

Lucky SOB.

Speaking of classic movies--he made a several.  Christine, The Thing, and Escape from New York to name a few.

I remember Adrienne being in Swamp Thing and Creepshow.

imdb says it was Tara Buckman. (Lamborghini babe #2)

It appears that her career never really got much better.

It'll embarrass me to say so, but if my 80's TV memory isn't faulty, Tara was a star on the series "Sheriff Lobo." I think she was a character named "Peaches" or "Brandy" though I can't recall which. Adrienne was also in "The Fog" which was a Carpenter concoction, I believe.

I used to love that show!!!  Maybe it was because of Peaches and Brandy though................

I remember watching Cannonball Run when it was first released in the theaters.  I bet my brother and I watched it 10 times.  Great show!

I'm not sure of the details, but the movie was based on the real Cannonball Run, a coast-to-coast rally race staged for a number of years by Car & Driver magazine. Apparently it was quite the adventure....before they finally shut it down.  :(

A movie that I really like is A Power of one. This movie is about a boy (PK) trying to re-unite the two tribes in South Africa.. Which are the Afrikaners and the White English. I could watch that movie a million times..

I hate to admit to watching "Lobo", but I did occasionally for Mills Watson's portrayal of the deputy. He was DUMB, but occasionally funny. I can't remember much about P&B, but one (not Buckman) was quite cute. I have no taste...

I hate to say it, but the thing I remember most about "Cannonball Run" was the scene where one guy (Chan, I believe) is trying to watch "Behind the Green Door" while driving. I could just believe that sort of thing! :o

I, too, believe it was based on a real race. Don't know much about it though. There is another movie about it but not in the "Cannonball Run" canon.

Regards to all, Bill.
