That's great Joel.  You can't have a shaky Doc when those surgical cuts are necessary ;)

I didn't get any pics taken and now it's dark.

I got busy working on a few things I need to do before winter .

I'm going to sharpen the smurf out of the Dr tonight and work on my work edc. Hopefully I can get a decent inside pic or two.

Now used

I'm trying to get my water lines ready for winter.

I'm going to have to install new heat tape.

I replaced the plug-in ends and give it a good inspection.  The wire itself must be shot but I can't see it.

I was never out lol

I used my black oxide Rebar I just got back from repairs for the days I put down the surge.

I like the Surge in ss. It's a change . Hopefully it don't rust up on me to easily.

It will be interesting to see how it looks in six months or so.

I just tool a black sharpie to all the spots showing wear on the leather sheath I've been carrying the Surge's in and it looks way better.

It got wore looking very fast.  Glad I did something to it.

I bet shoe polish would have worked better

At shops that sell leather working stuff, or maybe online, 'Tandy leather company' you can get leather stain, 1 small bottle will last close to a lifetime.+ touching up belts, wallets etc :D

I've done the Sharpie trick too, JA.  I used to carry a Buck 110 in a belt sheath, and cut the flap off to make it a drop-in holster.  The Sharpie took care of the "wound" nicely.

Mr JA I just popped in to say how much I love this and your FatMan/Little Boy thread.

I also posted on your for sale to get a Fat Bike (whatever that is) thread.

Keep up the good work.

Heres a link to that stain man, just scuff up with scotch brite or fine sand paper, just to take off the layer of clear coat on your sheath. And don't forget to get some finish coat\ shene or maybe an all in one stain and finish. It looks like ' mad plumbarian' knows alot about leather work, maybe ask him for some pointers :D

I was putting in a light fixture today working above my head and the bit I was using fell out of the hit holder twice.

I also managed to open the plane edge blade while I was using the Surge as a screwdriver and the tool was closed.

I'm not sure if it was a fluke or not but  still unsafe

I never had to happen before. But if the insides are being used, they do not lock the outside blades and tools. Only when the pliers are deployed.

Nate

I never opened anything on the wave i used to edc back in the day.

if it starts happening often il quit edcing it.

Mini rant  :mn:

I wish i had time for more pics lately but I have been busy.

there's a serious lack of in action pics and use updates.

Thought s

I have been using the Surge for just about everything.

It's been a good worker so far. He still feels big in hand. A sak is this tools best friend. It's large one hand opening blades are the wrong tool for some of the jobs I do .

I feel what you are saying Joel. Sometimes it is better to have a smaller blade.
