To be quite honest,I'm not all together certain of the definition of a "Bushcraft" knife.

I do own one that is titled a Bushcraft knife.

I also own dozens of knives which I feel would perform any chore necessary to survive in the wilderness.

Hahahaha, there is NO definition of a Bushcraft knife. Generally though, they are overbuilt fixed blades.

None of those are hunting knives.Five of the six knives have full tangs that extend to the butt of the knife and are a full 1/4'" thick hand forged steel.

These knives are twice as thick as the Spyderco and twice the weight.

Beating the spine of these knives with a wood stick would be child's play.

Those are Randall Made knives and here is a link on how they are forged from bar stock.Randall is one of the few knifemakers who forge their own steel from Swedish 01 or 440c steel.

Here is a picture of the spine and the side profile of the Spyderco and Randall.

Thanks. They are really stoutly constructed knives.

Here is another Randall,a Model 15.It has a smaller profile both in length and spine to edge measurements but keeps the 1/4" blade width.

Dale, who is the maker of this knife ?

I can't read the makers name.

Nice looking blade!

How about a little description and a picture of the spine of this fine blade.

I had to go for a quick 12K ride on my Trek.

You can see the additional handiwork required to achieve the finish on that blade.

Very cool.

Totally agree with your comments. Surroundings, personal techniques and experience, and budget all have an influence on a good knife choice. Here are some of mine which I'll use outdoors depending on circumstances.
