The other day I read an article with the most absurd/ridiculous laws ever... so, speaking of mice, it turned out that in whatever state (I forgot where), you need a hunting permit in order to set a mouse trap

Only for commercial purposes. Homeowners in the State of California are allowed to trap them without any permits. I had to Google that one up.

No, there were landlords that put this into the renting contract. However, you do not have to follow that as showering/flushing is a basic right and you are allowed to do it at any time (I mean people who work shifts also want to shower when they get home, etc.).
Basically, its more of an etiquette thing that says be nice to your neighbors.
