Full credit for turning me on to the TEC Python clips.

I had been looking for a means to attach items to my keychain such that they could quickly and easily be detached and re-attached, while being light, not too bulky, and reasonably reliable and secure.  I’ve had some on my keychain for at least a month now, and they seem to be just the thing.

My one complaint is that I wish they had managed to make the fixed hole a bit larger, as it is too small to accommodate some larger size split rings.
:hatsoff:

Glad you like them Nate, I’m a big fan. The gates seem more reliable than a lot of other clips imo

The hole is pretty small you’re right, I bought a pack of split rings from TEC so haven’t had any problems but I can see if you wanted to use something larger you would

Isn't that shop trolley token supposed to be used by the other end? Or does it like this just release the trolley without getting caught inside the slot?

That's exactly the idea. Inserted this way you release the trolley without leaving the token in. Some old timers leave their keys dangling in their trolley, which in Finland is still pretty safe, but generally a bad idea! This is my most used tool, btw.

Not very heavy in the pocket. I'll go with it a few weeks on my keys to see id it's a keeper or I'll send it to the tool chest. It's nifty how it hangs on the keyring by itself, like this, with it's jaws closed  :D.

Thats a tiny vise grips.  I've seen adjustable wrenches on keychains so who knows,  This just might be a keeper.

I tried carrying this SwissTech mini multi-tool on my key chain for a while.  It clamps on to a key ring also.  You have to unfold it to take it off.  Very secure.  It drove me nuts.  It is small but heavy.  Then there is the concern of putting additional wear on an auto lock mechanism with the heavy keys and multitool swinging around all the time.  I have seen the whole lock get loose from wear.  Extra weight couldn't help it any.
I bought the thing on close-out at Walmart years ago for $2 and have actually used it a few times.  I tried using it for a zipper pull.  Not for me.  Lately I have carried it in my belt pack.  Since I have gotten more into Leatherman, it has since been replaced there also.  Best wishes.  G

I really enjoy keychain carry pics.

Here is what I carry.  I should mention I carry my Midnight Manager and Rovyvon A5 on a Victorinox Belt clip along with my wallet.

I carry my Keys separate on a NiteIze clip with a Photon X and pill container with locking Sbiner.  I have used the NiteIze black clip for a very long time as well as the Photon X.  I carried a Manager exclusively for years as well until FolderBeholder gifted me the Midnight Manager.

The squirt has a broken scissor spring, It’s the second one this has happened to.
I wouldn’t mind but I don’t think I haves ever used the scissors on either of them.

My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Had this set up for a few years now, clipped to my left front pocket pretty well from the moment I get up until I go to bed

Used to carry more OPT’s to achieve a similar carry, but the Rambler has proven more useful

Once in a while I switch over to my “posh” set up :D Rambler replaced with a Manager and the Nitecore replaced with a Rovy Von. The Nitecore definitely holds its charge longer

Yeah, funny how things stay the same, once you find your thing. Hard to say if it's a rut or a groove.

Amazingly, all my edc gear in rotation fits in a medium sized tackle box. My knife and MT and keyring tools change from time to time, but tend to stay the same for months, sometimes years. My EDC has so many capabilities as is, so I gravitate towards lighter weight in keys.

I must be the minimalist of the crowd.  I only carry one pocketknife at a time.  These are the only keychain tools I ever carry.  I took them off the keys for the photo.  You can see how dirty and scuffed things get in my pockets from the sad state of the USB drive.  Best wishes.  G

Granted, key ring is not an ideal way to carry. Pocket bulk and jingle are annoying. But you generally have a set of keys on you at all times, so it's logical to have the most important capabilities there. For me it's light. My eyesight is not very good, and in low light I can't read or do any fine work. It's very dark in my country for at least 5 months in a year.

But apart from light, I could leave out all other tools. I have a bigger blade, nice scissors etc on me anyway. But whenever I take something off the keys, I find myself missing it soon.

I don't carry keys in the tradition sense.  While I do have one key on a ring, my vehicle keys ride in a coin purse in order to protect the buttons from accidental activation in my pocket.  Without it, the sliding doors on my sweet 2023 AWD Sienna Hybrid would open spontaneously, then the vehicle would text me asking to have its doors closed.   I have a piece of cardboard situated to shield the buttons, and its close to 100% effective.  Emergency cash lives in there too, which I almost never use.  It could be used for credit cards, etc., as well, but I carry a slim Big Skinny card holder for that. My Man Toys reside on a separate ring.

I've gotta say I really like those minivice grips.  Smallest ones that I have are around 4 inches.  I do have a mini adjustable wrench though that I keep on my EDC ring.

Well, my EDC set hasn't changed in quite awhile now but I'm working on a different setup.   Went into the local big box home improvement store, yesterday, and came out with this Nite ize Bigfoot key rack.
(I'm a sucker for something like this.)
Gotta play around with it some to get the layout that I want.  May replace the locking S biners with a set of the No. 1 G series, I don't know yet.
