Not much new in my edc world. This weekend the Skeletool is riding shotgun.

My rotation is pretty predictable these days. I have found a good balance and a variety of tools that keep things interesting. Tomorrow will be a dog fight between the Skeletool and Reactor. The Skeletool has to be one of the coolest looking tools I have. Paired with the style cs and usually I'm good to go. The Reactor really shines in the weight category. I literally did not realize I was carrying it one day. Forgot pocketed it, and thought I'd left it at home. Really good tool, usually combo it with the Crosscut. The Skeletool and style combo wins out for me usually only because the Crosscut often let's me down. We'll see what tomorrow holds.

Considering a Kershaw Shallot or CS Code 4 for my next folder. Any thoughts?

Code 4 is strong, beautfiul (subjective, of course) and carries really nice. If you want a good looking, tough, all around workhorse, go for it.
Shallot will be for lighter duty, it's weirder looking, has the advantage of reversible tip up/down pocket clip. Steel is nice, above CS AUS8 but below CS CTS-XHP. Faster to open and close, mor fun to use, but of limited tolerances.
The former will outlast, outlive and outperform the shallot, but the Kershaw is much less expensive and its blade a tad longer, which may become useful for some tasks
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

Those are good observations. I'm leaning towards the code 4. I haven't had a cold steel knife yet either

I've never used either of those knives, but the Code 4 has a much better blade going by those pics.

No pic, but I carried the wave today. It is such a great tool. It really is a pity they omitted an awl for it. I would even drop the extra cash for a charge if they had an awl. Otherwise it really is a great tool. I always carry the wave with the pocket clip. A little weight never hurt anybody.

I officially have a code 4 clip point on the way. I should have it Friday. Amazon prime has spoiled me

Btw I had no knowledge of the code 4 until Kampfer posted his setup with the spirit

Thanks Aloha

I got the Code 4 today, initial thoughts......What a knife!!! Lol it's thinner than I thought, but wide as expected. Fits nice in the pocket. The pocket clip seems short for the knife but I kind of like it. It doesn't  scream, "I have a giant on me" to the world. I like to stay under the radar as much as possible. I will post pics tomorrow with another gift I received from a fellow here.

I view on Code 4 = BEAST

Big but not cumbersome
Elegant but not fancy
Advanced material but not expensive
Simple but not crude
Tough but not over built

It is an excellent jack of all trade knife.

I got the sog ppp this week from our fellow member Poncho. He was very gracious and he didn't even know it was one of the few tools I haven't tried yet. Thank you kind sir for the gift. :salute:

Thoughts: Sog makes a great leather sheath. nothing to do with the tool I know, but Leatherman really needs to take notes here. This sheath and the one I have for my Powerlock are top notch. It makes me want to carry the tool because of the comfort of the sheath. Mind you, I was anti sheath initially but the sheath for the spirit made me a convert. So usually for my full size multis they go on the belt.

The tool itself is small. Which is a good thing. The Powerlock can be overwhelming at times, and the handle splay can be uncomfortable. I quick felt at home with the pocket power plier. Anyways, good tool from a great member.
