Alan K.'s Leatherman Wave challenge
on: March 01, 2016, 05:46:00 AM
It's a bit early yet as it's still February 29th here for another 20 minutes.  You mean I can only carry one multitool for the whole month?  Getting ready for this challenge feels like this...

Good luck with the Wave  :tu: It is a very capable tool so you should be fine with just it this month. Can't wait for all the pics

Day 3
More trail shots, and today I used the Wave to remove what was left of a broken paper cup dispenser from the wall in my bathroom.

Day 4

More pics from the Long Key Nature Center.  This is an air plant that hangs from trees. It is called Grandfather's beard and back in the time of the model A and model T Fords they used this moss to stuff the seats.

Day 4 continued...

Not done yet.  Used the wave to light up my smoker and to cut some more oak for the coals.  Cooking a 10 pound pork shoulder today.

That looks delicious
I think I'm going to braai (that's South African for barbecue) with my wave tomorrow.

Day 6

My Wave on a bench near the pond at the nature center, and today, helping me at the Renaissance festival to fix a wagon (with an assist from Mr. Pinchy).  Not enough hands to take an action picture of both, but I did take a picture of the Gerber in the wagon when I was done.

The coffee bushes were not in season.  I'll have to go back and pick some coffee beans when they are producing and try roasting them and I'll let you know.

Day 7
Nothing to do today except for one appointment so I don't think I will have very much need for the wave.  It will just rest in a pocket.

Day 8

Another light day, but starting miserably early (04:30) with an airport run to drop someone off.  I'm planning on juice and cookies and an afternoon nap to make up for it.

I'm getting bored.  If I can't find another project soon I will have to invent something to do with my Wave.

Day 10

I just got back from my appearance on live TV this morning.  I really wanted to take a picture of my Wave in the studio for today's pic but they wouldn't allow it.  So, here's my last picture from the Long Key Nature Center.  The Wave is on time.

My message would be a little different.  More like be kind to others, eat less fats, give up smoking, always expect things to go well, but be prepared for the worst case scenarios, and carry a multitool.

No, I had to spread the message I am paid to spread.  Telling everyone about the scout program that I run at the Florida Renaissance Festival which is running for 3 more weeks.

Day 11
Leo says...
Never Leave the house.  Nothing good ever happens when you leave the house.  First you go for a ride with that maniac who drives like Steve McQueen in Bullitt, (I almost puked) then you go to that horrible, horrible place that smells like dogs.  I can't even begin to describe the atrocities that are carried out there, and with impunity I might add.  I think Alan even paid them to do that to me.  Not happy at all right now.  A handful of treats will not make up for such indignities.  Well, maybe a little.

Day 12
Just noticed some loose threads in my shorts.  Trimming threads one handed while holding a camera in the other hand is no easy task.

Day 13

Changed the clocks last night so I've lost an hour of sleep. I think I'm going to need extra coffee today.

You're quite correct of course, no excuse is needed to justify drinking more coffee.  Especially when it is good coffee.

Taunting baby dragons is a bad idea when you don't know where the mother is.  Probably just a bad idea period.

I'm going to have a long day today, working the election here in Florida.  Pictures aren't allowed in polling places, so here's a picture of how I carried the wave before this months challenge.

Did you attach both those sheaths together?
