Hi Everyone - longtime lurker, first time poster. I had the Swisschamp on me today for some work in the garden and realized it’s Swisschamp Sunday!  I have never used it in the garden, but thought why not just pull it out of my pocket to clear out weeds and prune some dying tomato plants.  The fish scaler hook works great to help dig up small roots that otherwise break off.  I was surprised at how well the magnifying glass worked to get a closer look at something akin to clover mites (not clover mites, but still need to identify).  And happy to have those pliers to remove a nasty splinter from an old planter.

Weight is around the same as a can of SPAM as well.

The SwissChamp XXL weighs in at 353 grams, regular SwissChamp is 185 grams.

How does it feel in the hand?  I love the bigger SAKs.

For me realistically the XXL and XAVT are collector pieces and were bought as such and will not actually get any use.
They live quite happily in their little homes (boxes)
If you were to use them I think you would need a belt pouch as they are too heavy, about the weight of a can of SPAM in your pocket.
As for in the hand feel they are lovely and really would be quite useable, I don't see the XXL or XAVT as being an awkward tool to use, it would depend on your hand size and personal preferences though.  58mm SAK's for example feel way to small in the hands for me, I find a smaller tool like this much more awkward and clumsy to use than a larger or oversize SAK.

There was a challenge last year involving the big SAKs that seemed like a great time.  I wish I could remember the title, but Comis started it.

Today’s swisschamp Sunday was a war against the ants: Cut open some stubborn bait traps with the scissors. Used the chisel and file to scrap off old wood glue to reapply under a spot in the molding (where the buggers are coming in).  Then needed the chisel and small blade to break up the soil to plant ant stakes. The soil's so dry I couldn’t just stick them in. Not all awful though. My son find these two pictured dead on the walk, so we measured them and looked at them under the mag lens.

All internet turtles were saved with a swisschamp. Because of this we use paper straws instead of plastic straws, and wood forks instead of  plastic forks. Please use a swisschamp. You never know when you have to save a turtle. I do my part. I always EDC a swisschamp. :salute:
