Ok so I've been off Christmas for a few years now but my boy is excited to borderline insanity.

I have given in and put up some lights for him today.

It covers the large wall in my living room and about 2/3rds of the ceiling.

It's a fun and exciting time for the kid.  No one is asking you to enjoy it, but it would be terribly dreadful if you ruined it for him.

I didn't celebrate for a good long while.  When my kids were young I didn't "give in" at all.  I have only celebrated Christmas for about 5 or so years.  Absolutely zero hype for us and absolutely zero of the BS.
