As some of you may have noticed,  the polls are in and the winner of the 2016 Multitool.org Multitool Of The Year is....


The Victorinox Pioneer X!

Congratulations to Victorinox and thanks to everyone who voted!

Second place is the Gerber Center Drive and Leatherman gets bronze with the Bladeless Rebar!

I think the new poll software worked out quite well, and I like the graphic.

Also, I think each tool did reasonably well, and accurately mirrored what we see in our discussions here.  The great thing is, it wasn't limited to forum members, and was in fact advertised on Facebook and Twitter as well. 

It has been suggested in the past that our members, the serious enthusiasts may have different tastes than the people at large, but I believe that isn't the case and this poll seems to prove that.

I also voted only X, even its not perfect for me.From these tools I only got the X, walker, reactor, powerplay and RX and I dont want to vote tools I have no experience with.

RX didnt deserve vote as I liked CX more and Walker I have minimal amount of carry so far.

Powerplay is bad so is Reactor.

I think 2016 was pretty limited MT year overall, but I will check out that Center Drive some day.

We tried the one vote thing for the first Multitool Of The Year (which also was a Victorinox model!) but folks complained that one vote didn't allow them to choose the best keychain, the best heavy duty tool, the best EDC tool, the best speSmurfpillsed tool etc.  In the end it was easier to give everyone several votes so they can pick multiple "best" tools based on the criteria they thought made the best multitool.
