Hi from British Columbia!

Greetings, all!

This is my first post on the forum. I have carried a SAK for around 35 years and just yesterday, I picked up my first Leatherman, a Charge ALX. I now find myself running around looking for things to fix. So far, I have stopped short of asking strangers on the street if they need anything fixed, but the temptation is still there.

My wife and I love to go camping whenever we can, so I have ample opportunity to field test my multi-tools, as well as the 'users' from my knife collection. I guess that I will have to get more drawers, because I have a feeling that multi-tools will be a new direction for my collecting ~~sickness~~...er...hobby.

I know what you mean. I am constantly hunting around for things to fix too. I often use my multitools despite having dedicated tools nearby.

You are definitely in the center of some great camping spots there!

Most of the time I carried my Explorer, but before that I don't recall the model, other than it had two blades and my most used tool at the time, a cork screw.

Don'tcha wish life was like a video game sometimes? People would stand around with big ! above their head, ready to give you quests. (Unlike the real world, where you stand around with a cardboard sign, asking for work)

Oregon is one of my favorite States. Wine, ocean breeze, breakers and lots of trees. Who could ask for anything more? Besides, the Pacific Northwest is one of the best places in N.America, IMHO.

It is beautiful, I've been living here for over a year now and I can't complain, just like you said,
ocean, trees, fresh air! I have found my State/place to live

I will be checking out BC in the future, my GF loves it there and we like to camp and the out doors.
I'd also like to plan some tours here at some of the MT/Knife companies, I'll keep you posted bro

Great to hear that you made it up to BC, MultiMat, don't forget that the door is always open and the 'welcome mat' is always out! I think that everyone should experience camping in BC. For me, it represents the only sanity I get. Things just seen to make sense and gain perspective when a person camps.

Welcome to the forums APF,I used to stop in in BC on the way to Alaska,back in the 70's and 80's,can't remember where,but the Snow Bird aircraft did a lot of training at the base,and thanks for the Welcome,beautiful country up there.

Small world, Whoey! I grew up in Victoria and lived there until about 20 years ago, when I moved up Island. Don't forget, the door is always open.

The wife and I have talked about it before... it would be nice to go back and visit, maybe during the winter olympics... a while back I did get offered a (return) spot at the company I used to work for in Victoria... unfortunately it's quite far from both our families (hers is here in Spain, mine is on the east coast of Canada mostly)

That's right Al,it was Comox,I can remember going down to a small village nearby,and looking out across the bay,still got a Canadian coin the same size as a US quarter from there.Good memories,Thanks!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Duckman! Yes, it is a great place. I think that I have learned more in 10 minutes here than in the last 10 years.

@ Smitty - Heh, the last time I was in Comox, I was trying to sleep while the Voodoo fighters were doing touch and go landings. Not a lot of sleep that night!

Yes, I am really enjoying the ALX. It just gets better with use.
