ToolName:	The MPW (my perfect Wave)
Basis:	LM 2nd Gen Wave
Aim:	To add tools I use and need, and remove tools I don't.  It is still not legal carry in the UK.
Mods:	Added Vic scissors instead of serrated blade.  Vic scissors need hole enlarged, and I did this with a diamond file (although it could be drilled out).  Vic scissors open one handed, but do not lock open, and hit the linear lock stop halfway on the way back (but can just about be closed one-handed).  I also ground down the tab that locked the serrated blade in the folded-in closed position --- but this is not necessary.   Added awl and philips driver from Fuse/Blast range, and removed the inside scissors, small bit holder and bottle opener, to make room.  Needed to remove (twist off) the pliers head rest on the philips side, so the philips would sit flat inside.  Tool closes fully.

I've stopped re-arranging and swapping out tools for over a few months now, so I guess it's just about finished and not going to change anytime soon.  I use the saw and diamond file often, and the outside one-hand opening scissors get used too (because they are now readily available).  The flat head and philips get use too, and the philips will take the LM hex bit adaptor that is used on the philips in the Juice line.  The awl, at first I didn't see much need for one but put it in because lots of posters in the forums said how good it was, and it is!  I use it a lot too.  The flat bit adaptor and main blade are probably the tools with least use.  The flat bit gives me options, so I keep it in.... and  a blade is, well, ...  even if I removed the main blade from this tool set the Wave may not be UK legal as the inside tools lock (the flat screwdriver blade and sharp awl in particular).



I've also modded a regular hex bit adaptor, as well as a 1/4" square socket adaptor, and the small bit holder, to fit the LM flat bit adaptor.  Dremel and a bit of careful grinding down does the job.

An update on my Rebar VX:

Tool Name: Leatherman Rebar VX
Basis: Leatherman Rebar
Aim: rendering it more versatile (inspired by the ST 300 VX above) and also pimping it up visually
Mods: removed the lanyard ring, a washer, the fixed Phillips and the small flat screwdriver as well as the original file, and inserted a pair of scissors and a small and a large bit driver from a LM Wave in the handles as well as a ground down and drilled Wave diamond file. Also gave it BO handles. Still some minor adjustments planned to the awl (thinning) and the wide flat screwdriver (pry bar notch).

Just to add that I had to shorten the scissors' thumb tab to allow it to fold fully flat against the inside of the handle - the plier spring was in the way. Took off about 2 mm.

Bit driver and large flat driver positions were reversed, under certain circumstances the plier head would snag the large driver.

Mods:	Used various parts to build a KF4, and added extra layer on both sides.  Needed to grind down the extra layer as it was too wide. Added a package opener from a TaoTool (needed to grind down to get it to fit.  Used part of regular Juice scissors for a hook-type tool.  Used a small bit adaptor from the Wave range (needed to grind down and fit a shim to the pivot hole to bring it to right size.  Sanded down scales and painted using a car repair kit.

Tool Name: ReWaveR (Rebar Wave, Ruggedised)
Basis: Leatherman Wave
Aim: Making a ruggedised version of the Wave along the lines of my Surge R.
Mods:: removed scissors and both large and small bit drivers (these went into my Rebar VX), added the Rebar's fixed Phillips and small screwdriver (trimmed down to fit) as well as an awl fashioned out of another small Rebar screwdriver (courtesy of Breezy12 ). The plier head rest tabs in both handles has to be removed by twisting them off and grinding away the remains. Also swapped the plain and serrated edge blades for those of a Charge (better steel PE blade and SE blade with ground cutting hook).
UPDATE: Swapped the pliers head for one from a Rebar, hence the renaming. This is slightly wider along a limited portion of its length and therefore prompted minor adjustments by filing away excess material in the flat screwdrivers (small one: further reduce shank width; large one: small bevel), the can opener (small bevel)  and inside the handles (non-critical portions of the internal spring and of the rivets Dremeled away)
