This is a Randall  Model 14CDT with a really nice piece of Sambar Stag.

This knife is 12.5" long with a 7.5" blade that is 3/16" thick along the spine.

Since I live in Michigan, seems about time I get a Bark River knife. Got a Woodland S35VN  on the way from DLT Trading (the older Woodland model style, which is on closeout):

Never heard of Bark River and I lived in Michigan for many years. Will be moving back there soon.

The company is only about a dozen years old or so, but their knives are extremely popular in the bushcraft community. They are based out of the UP in Escanaba. Very awesome finished knives with good steel, convex edge, and a lifetime warranty. My local hardware store a mile down the street from me carries them, so I have seen them several time but never purchased one before. I think they are a bit pricey at or near full MSRP, but the Woodland I purchased from DLT Trading is almost 50% off.

+100!!!! I only have one but WOW! They are awesome! Buy 'em used or on sale!

Thanks  David. This Randall is a real hand full because the stag is so large in circumference.

Here it is compared to the Buck 124.

This is a Randall #16 Special Fighter.

It uses the same blade as Bo Randall's most famous knife, the Model 1-All Purpose Fighting Knife but it utilizes a full tang with a handle Randall also pularized.

Here is another and seldom seen Randall Made knife.Several decades ago Bo Randall offered his dealers the option of designing a knife,in co-operation with the Randall shop,in which Randall would build the knife and it would then be exclusive to that dealer. This is a Buxton Fighter and it's made for Wayne Buxton.

It sports a 6 1/2" bowie style clip point blade which is 1/4" thick. It also incorporates a dual hilt,a border patrol style handle and a full tang. This tang extends approximately 5/8" beyond the end of the handle and is also equipped with a thong hole.
