What is the story with this knife? Never heard of an Elver before.

It's made by Enzo, a Finnish knife maker.  They make all sorts of nice fixed and folding knives - you can see them here: http://brisa.fi/enzo.html - and they also make kits where you get the blade and either pre-machined handles or blocks of the handle material to finish yourself.  The Elver is their smallest full size knife kit (they also make some neck knives) and they seem to be pretty good value at just 60 euros ($65) for the blade, screws, handles and sheath.  The finished knife is 95 euros (or £85 in this country ::)).

How is it possible I have never seen this?

Why yes I would love to make my own knife.

I'm sure they have US dealers if you wanted to give it a go - and there must be similar products from other manufacturers out there too.  You really should try it, you know. :pok:

This is another Randall Made knife. It's a model 21 Little Game with a SS blade, thumb notches, single brass hilt, brass and black spacers and a Sambar Stag handle. It's finished with a brass butt cap and thong hole.

Altogether it's an attractive and compact knife.

That BK2 is a brute and there's probably nothing that knife couldn't do.

Congrats David.

Thank you TG. The Camillus BK2 has a thinner blade than the Ka-Bar BK2. Its still a solid knife.    :D

Makes it sorta like a drop point rampless 10 then, huh? Neat. Forgot the Cammy 2's were standard thickness. Skeletonized tang on that or solid?

Thanks David!!! I lost one in the '06 fire and it took this long to find one I could afford.

Cool knives. That pic of the BK4 is really good.   :)

Thanks! That was a fun piece to baton, white cedar.

Anybody have any of the Becker tweeners? I love mine, I have all 3. But I need to figure out a more compact sheath solution, the stock ones are entirely too long! I have a kabar short leather sheath for the 15, but it's not that great for the shorter 16 and 17

No tweeners yet. Have thought about a 16. My main hold up is I'm not sure the handle is big enough for my hand. It proably is but might be border line small.     :)

As someone with quite large hands (10" pinky to thumb spread, 8" wrist to middle finger), I find it quite a good handle. Does it fill my hand? No. But it doesn't have to, is the beauty of it. I've carved for hours with my 17 to no hot spots. Just food for thought :)

Finished the Elver the other night.

Decided just to sand the handle and leave it un-waxed/oiled.  Went to 800 grit wet and dry and it's lovely and smooth in the hand.  Great shape to the handles and the blade's not too big.  Lovely sheath too.

Thats a job well done.

Congrats brother hiraethus.
