You'll note the drummer maintained control of the drum stick throughout the whole song. That's better than I usually do......

Fascinating question......

I have a nice bodhrán (that I picked up from the maker in Orkney). And I do play it.

The fascinating part here is trying to determine whether or not I play music with it........

Perhaps so.....

I've also got a 3-string cigar box guitar. I play a very 'eclectic' version of the blues.

How about you?

I'm a guitar player although not playing as much these days as I used to. Flatpicking fiddle tunes mostly for the last ten years or so but dabbled in jazz, Django style a bit as well.

Very cool.

Oh, I completely forgot, I also have a mandolin. I was thinking about trying to take some mandolin lessons this Summer. Yeah, I'll need lessons.

I love music, but have no sense of rhythm, timing, and tone. And I don't read music. I keep trying, but I expect that I'd have a better chance learning how to communicate with cats through complex vocalizations than I do of learning how to play "Highway Child" on the mandolin.

I never learned to read music either, most guitar players can't. Same with Mandolin, Ukulele etc. , all you need are chord charts to get started.

I just popped in to see if anybody was here on a Friday night.

Pretty quiet, so I tuned the set to.....

Jazz 88FM
  ...out of the Twin Cities.

A little Charlie Parker to start the evening.  :tu:

Oh wow, Louis Armstrong & Oscar Peterson.

Armstrong kills me with his brilliance. He's like the Hendrix of Jazz.

And I'm a sucker for Otis Redding.......

Nice track.

Otis might not have been the most morally sound man, but he sure could sing.
