It's been a little quiet in here.

I'm planning on showing up for the Saturday night Blues show on Jazz FM91.

I spoke with the Speakeasy bartender. He's recommending the venerable Daiquiri, a cocktail steeped in Navy tradition, to celebrate Spring and the Blues.  Not the frozen slushy thing, but a real Navy Daiquiri.

Navy Daiquiri

There wasn't a great recipe in that article, so I dug this one up:

First daiquiri made with 2.5 oz rum, 1.5 oz of a grapefruit & lime juice blend, and 1/2 oz simple syrup. All shaken with lots of ice.

Served the daiquiri with some spiced peanuts: dry roasted peanuts toasted in a skillet with a little peanut oil. When hot, added cayenne pepper, black pepper, and Cajun seasoning mix.

My mouth is on fire, but that daiquiri seems to have things under control.  :tu:

Merit Badges Start a new thread and post a photo of an Executive or Director for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the pen for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participants shall carry and use one Soldier knife, the model of their choosing, for the duration of the 90 days and post a picture each day. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Delemont SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK Cybertool (any variant), Swisschamp, Champion or Toolchest for sixty (60) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge by carrying  a GEC knife and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo daily of any SAK 74mm or smaller ( you can switch it up daily ) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Build your own version of an MRE using off-the-shelf components, post a photo of the completed MRE and store at room temperature for 6 days or more. Consume the MRE after the storage period and post pictures and descriptions of the contents. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Farmer X SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Leatherman Skeletool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate and contribute in Challenge thread and post a photo of either an Axe, MT/Folding knife or Fixed blade (picked at the beginning of challenge) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Spyderco knife for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate and contribute in Challenge thread and post a photo of a different blade each day for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK Soldier for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. I think we all have a 'Grail knife' somewhere in the deep recesses of our imaginations. That special knife that would be the one featured in the movie of our lives. For me, that knife has to be the mythical "Farmer X" or "FieldHunter", as I call it.

Well, I corresponded with Syph007, and he has agreed to build me this mythical knife. It won't be cheap, but he has a plan.....and, maybe....one day....I'll have my 'Grail SAK'.
