Well it is officially Wednesday here in beautiful downtown Tecumseh Michigan so I guess I will post a picture....or two or three.
#1 A utility knife stamped Dan C. Laub Minneapolis Minn. The blade is sharp on one side and has a replaceable two edged small blade(also very sharp)on the other. Not sure of it's exact function;someone thought it might be a linoleum knife but the blade shape is wrong. If anyone knows what it was designed to do,I would appreciate the info.
#2 Made by the Hyde Mfg. Co. of Southbridge Mass.it is an early style utility knife that had a wide range of blade shapes. The handle unscrews to loosen the jaws allowing the blade to be replaced.I had several of these by various makers that also had handmade blades constructed of ground down hacksaw blade pieces. One of them was a set made by my ex-wife's grandfather who was a cobbler and used custom made blades to cut shoe leather.
#3 Another Hyde knife but this one is I believe used to cut linoleum or rugs. The blade is two sided and easily replaced.
#4 An early style utility knife using single edged razor blades. No maker's name.
