I think we need to develop a chef axe.          :D

Isn't that basically a clever? :dunno:

Maybe. I guess it depends on how you look at it. Its just an idea to toss around and see what develops. If anything.    :D
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

Day 15

Cant believe the axe challenge is half over already. I found a little project I thought the poll of Mini Axe could handle. Couple of nails had worked up and needed pounded back down.

Did you employ a slicing motion or did you chop it full swing like a madman? Please, please say the latter... please...   :2tu:
I tried chopping it first, but got complaints from the misses so had to go with slicing the bacon

I used a little sandpaper to smooth out some of Lyndax's rough edges in the eye. I think it helped.   :dunno:

I bet it did  :tu:

Makes sense, good fix  :tu:

I considered doing it before and probably paid for it but I didn't think it was going to cause me any issues

Nice photos showing the fix.  I think I have a coldsteel tomahawk somewhere, and remembered it used to get loosen from time to time.  Maybe it was a similar reason, or the sharp edges are digging into the handle too much.  I gonna look that up sometime, good call!

One of the other problems is the split out chunk on the outside bottom section of the handle. When I hit the handle on the end to seat the head, the inertia of the bit means that it wants to rotate out in the toe direction. So it ends up with a gap at the outside top and inside bottom. Hope that makes sense?

Fuzzaxe Day 15

Disappointingly, not much fuzzy axe action today. Still, looks pretty though.

Day 16

The good news is, the handle still looks like it will fit ok, and there is still a bit more to play with. I'm pretty confident I'll be making this my shorter handle to reduce the stress on it

How long is that handle length?

I actually measured it last night, 750mm, so 300mm longer than factory. I'm going to chop it down to 450. Interestingly, the stock handle for Fuzzaxe is 620mm, which has the same 400g mass head, but it is different geometry so don't really know the justification from Rinaldi on that one. Also, Lyndaxe is the same American pattern as Bruce but is 500g and comes with the same 450mm handle stock

Making some chips? Better that your friend is recovering and nice of you to visit. A work mate just lost a good friend of his last week to cancer, 4 weeks after diagnosis. Makes you appreciate a lot of things when you hear something like that

Day: 15

A quiet day for Lyndaxe....

So we are halfway through the challenge and I find I'm a bit surprised that I'm not missing a pocket knife at this point. I didn't expect that......

Day15
1145pm no use today

Did have an Apache fly over me...so here is a fuzzy shot as it was leaving the neighborhood.
I really wish I got my shot when it was right over me because it was super close.
They often follow the freeways so it's not surprising to see military helicopters around here, but it's always interesting
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Day 16

Since we were last on the butt subject, I pulled out my good old Estwing and filed down all the sharp corners of its butt.
