If something happens, which might be expected.. He knows his way around the outdoors and might have a protected secret place where ancient dark powers can't reach them?

I sure hopes so

That's what usually happens.

Its why the U Boat is constantly running away from one or more ancient horors.

Not sure what Nix will do....
Like this situation... Someone on the crew summoned a Shoggoth.

I'd have enough to treat most of MTO to a Dairymilk bar Pabs. Or if I spent my money wisely, enough to tempt a Ganesh to get rid of the Shoggoth.

Medical Bill and Inga were up and about this morning. Apparently rested, but hungry.

I suggested that we stroll into town, and Inga quickly agreed.

We stopped by the 'Old Pioneer Cabin' which looks every bit of it's c.1864 age. Even Bill thought it looked small.

Then it was on to town where the couple larked about.

They checked out the little library, where Bill pretended he could read the titles on the spines of the books. Don't think Inga noticed that he was making up the titles.....

Bill absolutely fell in love with some of the local art work. He was impressed by the life-like depictions of these early pioneer miners hard at work.

You may have noticed the neon sign in the background of the first sot of the sculptures. The is the sign for the notorious 'Windbag' saloon. Before it was the Windbag, it was "Big Dorothy's" brothel. Naturally Bill insisted we go there for lunch. I'm not sure Inga was too thrilled.........

So, off to the Windbag we went. Medical Bill leading the way, Inga and I trailing along. Bill can move surprisingly quickly when so motivated it seems.

Once inside, Bill was delighted to find that they had some Premier League soccer football on.  I think it reminded him of the old country. However, I don't think he really understands how the game is played. Every few minutes he would yell out, "Go on, my son!", no matter which team or player had the ball.

Watford mopped the floor with Liverpool in a bit of a shocker.

All that yelling got Bill thirsty. Inga, realizing that they were at higher altitude, wisely chose a nice vintage tap water. Bill went for a pint of Guinness.

Old Bill then ordered a "Big American Burger". With fries. I suggested he try the Mac & Cheese or ask for oatmeal, but he, feeling strengthened by the Guinness I suppose, insisted on a "beef burger."

Well, I'll be blowed!  The little fella didn't put the whole burger away, finishing with a hearty belch.

Me: "Bill, you must have a hollow leg!"

Bill: "Aye. What of it?"

Me: "Hahahahaha"

Bill: "No. Really."

After a couple of pints of Guinness, Bill got rather gregarious and started to demand that I buy the saloon a round of grog. With a bit of delicate questioning we figured out he meant rum. I sensed more trouble coming, but fortunately a local couple strolled over and asked Bill where he was from....

He responded with a sort of slurred sea shanty, but the locals found him charming (in a lost puppy sort of way).

Anyway, they introduced themselves as Monty, a wilderness and hunting guide, and "Wild Wendy of the West". It turns out that Wendy is a pharmacy tech. She, friendly and interested in Bill's medical experiences, talked Bill's ear off. They started to discuss plans for marketing an organic sleep aid that doubles as a preventative for Covid-19.

All was going well until Bill started telling tales of life in the U-boat. I confess I couldn't listen and made my excuse to go to the washroom, but Monty and Wild Wendy seemed a bit overwhelmed....

By the time I got back to my bar stool, the party was back to lively banter and the occasional limerick. Fortunately Bill's accent kept Wendy from realizing the full extent of his meaning. The exciting news is that Monty seems to have talked Bill into going rock climbing and hiking. Bill said he would need to gear up, but of course Monty knew exactly where to take him shopping.....

Bill was drooling.....and, honestly, so was I......

Bill asked to borrow my phone to call his bank (does he even have a bank?). A little too late I realized he hacked my phone and bought something with my Apple pay......

Wait... So Bill's still alive then?

A the crack of dawn, that question seemed to be quite relevant. Poor Bill apparently had one pint too many during yesterday's trip to town.

However, after some good and salty porridge he seemed to bounce right back. Sturdy little fellow.

We had a bit of snow this morning. Inga tried to explain 'snow' to Bill. Again......

Eamo, it awl got a bit complicated.

Bill tried to make off with a fine looking Helle--the 'Sigmund'--shown below:

In addition, he tried to pinch a 25L Osprey backpack. "Mine was stolen by a Scottish Ogre."  (His words, not mine.)

It would seem that Bill's eyes are bigger than his hands....or back.

We had a little chat and discussed the options, and in the end he returned the Helle--I was a bit sorry to see that go--and Osprey pack and 'upgraded' to a more appropriate Minifig-sized fixie:

This seems a bit more sensible, and I'm glad Bill came around in the end.

Um, Bill needs to be supervised by a responsible adult around knives Nix.

I'm learning this the hard way.......

Bill, excited about his new fixie, was showing it off to Inga. Inga seems to be a fixie fan, too. She decided to do some chopping tests on free hanging rope.....with Bill holding the bloody rope in his hand!

Fortunately no hands, digits, or additional arms were lost during cutting. (But that was the climbing rope we had planned on using for our hikes.....). Both have been admonished to be more careful now.
