Our pocket tools are about function, but they look pretty stylish too. The function comes from locking implements including screw drivers, a blade and file. Did we mention it can open beers too and be clipped to just about anything with the built in carabiner clip? And the style? That comes from Leatherman's our more creative side.

I like the look of the Splice and Vise.

Seem to have a slightly better tool assortment than the Shortcut and Clutch. The addition of the serated blade is interesting.

I think we took some video of the cutting tool... I'll have to see if I can find it.  It wasn't as easy to use as it looks, and is designed for cops who use the plastic straps instead of cuffs.

That's their whole current ad campaign right now, it all started with the "fend for yourself" stuff.

But I like the look of the Vise and Splice, might have to pick one up in that green color.

Splice and Curve on REI.com:

And if that's the jacked-up REI price, can't wait to see Target's.

I just picked up a Gerber Splice at Gander Mountain.   I liked the looks of this new tool and the fact that it had a small saw blade.

Unfortunately, I'm not very impressed.  It's a very crude feeling tool (except for the scissors, which feel pretty good) and the fit and finish is raw for the price (I paid $20).  This feels like a lot of the other low cost Chinese made multitools I've seen in discount stores.

Gerber stuff is really hit or miss for me thse days.  The Ultralight LST is a great little lightweight knife for a survival pack.  The Artifact is a neat idea and a very inexpensive little beater tool.   Even the Suspension has pretty decent fit and finish for the price (especially when you can pick one up at Target for $15).

I carry a Leatherman Squirt S4 daily and have several Micras which are far superior and worth the small premium.

Found it- going to render and upload it now.  It should be up shortly, and I'll post a link when it is.

that Curve looks pretty nice, especially if the phillpips proofs to be useful in size and quality.
