Day 9

Opening another beer delivery. Seeing as we can sit outside a pub again from Monday, there will only be one more beer delivery to open for a while...

Day 9

Sticking with the beer theme, used a very dark green scaled PX to open a dunkel - well, it is Friday! Looking forward to my first visit to my local on Tuesday, earliest booking available when we booked!

I am going to break the beer theme - although I did my bit yesterday! lol

It was NKD today - I am not sure on the etiquette here in showing another knife during a SAK challenge though, so do forgive me! I usually carry a modern small slip joint alongside a SAK and so treated myself to a new Real Steel Luna - D2 blade and G10 scales.

(The PX helped me open the package!)

Opening an electrical panel.  Does anodising count as insulation?

Managed to sneak this baby past the missus. Swiss Champ with all the trimmings.
The scissors on my trusty PX snicker-snacked through the packing tootsweet before “Shewhomustbeobeyed”, the abiding light of my life, came back and caught me...
I live in a state of constant anxiety of the accusation: “Is that another knife?”

DAY 9

Busy, used the PX to tighten a screw, scrape some battery contacts clean and open a packet that didn't tear open properly.

Almost forgot to post today, but the scissors came in handy to cut up some shrink wrap for a pocket clip that I added to my flashlight

Day 10

Getting the usage out of the way early, seeing as the rest of the day will be spent watching rugby league, walking and then making my way through some of these beers. :drink:

Opening another precious liquid delivery and then helping with breakfast.

Great work, y’awl,

Day 10

Using the awlsome awl to un-case some sacks of squirrel and bird food - can’t beat this tool for gunge free tape cutting!

Day 10

Adjusting the food mixer alignment to stop clunking when Kneading bread dough.
Been annoying for months but good inspiration for challenge.

The PX is helping out as I use a couple of bits of G10 to make some jigs for 91 & 111mm knives. The awl is great for finishing off insufficiently drilled holes.
This is awl new to me so if it looks amateurish, that’s because it is!

Day 10

I've seen people tear through annoying plastic packaging without problem using the awl, so I tried it today with some replacement button batteries. I'm happy to report that the awl is a great choice when opening plastic packaging. It zips through and feels safer than using the main blade.

PX mod with Ti scales (surprisingly easy to do with ready made scales and bushings!) helps ‘big brother’ with slicing and dicing prep work for a shepherd’s pie.

Day 11

So, a local micropub in Preston started selling Buckfast, back in what seems like a lifetime ago now. A long story short, a tradition came out of nowhere where 2 of us who were Sunday regulars and one of the lads who ran it would have a Bucky at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. In the various lockdowns we've continued the tradition over Twitter. Hopefully this will be the last one for a while - the pub itself can't open yet, but fingers crossed I'll have a proper pint of cask ale in front of me this time next week...

Anyway, as this was an occasion to mark, the PX came out to stand on parade. Cheers, awl.

No action shot from me today but nonetheless plenty of action. Picnic in the park with some friends we have not seen in person for a year now. Scissors and blade came in handy to cut bread, cake and open some pre-packaged bits and pieces.

Always drink Bucky in moderation...

It was a bit of a surprise when they started selling it. It's been bloody popular thought. :ahhh

I attempted to add a clip to the PX today. I've done this to my cellidor models before with great success but all the bumps and ridges of the Alox makes the 3M VHB tape harder to stick. It feels solid so far but I'll update if anything changes.
