Camco Stockman??
on: December 18, 2021, 11:16:15 PM
Picked this one up few days ago. Love the covers, and it is in good shape overall. One of the backsprings sits very proud though. Anybody know the significance of the "Blackhawk" line? Is it just a model name or did it commemorate something?

Looks great! I understand Camco as usually being a lower-end line from Camillus but looks indistinguishable from any Camillus of the era.

Blackhawk is an older hand tool brand, which went through a string of owners before getting bought out by Stanley as a part of their purchase of National Hand Tool in 1986. One of my 3/8 ratchets is from Blackhawk. but I gave it back to Granddad when I finally got my own 3/8 ratchet, a 1950s S&K.

The brand still appears in Proto (also owned by Stanley) catalogs, and they remain Made in USA. Their ratchet designs appear indistinguishable from Proto to me. They definitely look different than my 1970s era Blackhawk ratchet.

I do believe you are correct Cody6268. I had my doubts until I saw the matching logo. Thanks for pointing me in a direction!!
