Congrats on finishing echotech! This challenge has been an interesting one. Spending an entire month carrying such a light weight knife has really made me think that I’m overloading most days. If I’m not careful this challenge could turn me into a minimalist  :ahhh

Excellent uses and pictures everyone! We are almost at the finish line

(Image removed from quote.)

Used the scissors to snip a thread on my suit jacket. Attended a formal event so not much use other than the scissor snip and I did use the nail file to file down my nail and clean my mitts. No action shot but here is a shot of the MCA with an analog synthesizer called the Mother 32 by  Moog

A great penultimate (and, in Echotech's case, final) day!

Day 29

One more package to open. This one contained some of the best commercially made cookies I've yet found.

Day 30: Thanks for a great 30 days Explorer, and everyone who participated!  The Mighty Minichamp has rode on my keychain for years, but there are times that it doesn't see much action.  That being said, it makes a pretty good pocket tool box!
Today's fun is opening a bag of crackers for a snack.  Glorious? No, but the kind of stuff oftentimes overlooked when we think about a multitool.

Great work, y’awl, and same tasty looking food….

Day 30

It’s been interesting using only minichamps for a month, and whilst they definitely have a place on my keychain, I’m not sure that they are an only knife for me - I miss 93mm alox too much! Nonetheless it was a fun challenge!

So to keep withe theme, and to celebrate the end of the challenge, time for some Old Peculier with some Austrian dried sausage with cheese as an accompaniment! Yum!

How quickly the 30 days go.
I was hoping to have some really new and unique photo to share but as my sidekick and I felt it a bit chilly outside we decided to play inside with an assortment of action figures left over from one of my other kids.

Well done to awl that have finished (or about to) and thanks to Explorer for hosting it  :salute:

I still have a day to go (missed Day 1 due to not being here )

Here's the MC on opening duties with a PCR test kit (not suffering, just part of national research etc)
Congrats awl  :drink: :drink: :drink:

Day 30
The MC helped me open a beer.

I am glad I stuck with and completed this challenge. I am thankful too FolderBeholder for giving me this MiniChamp to try.

My conclusion after using the MiniChamp for a month is although it  is a capable little tool, it just isn’t for me.  Even after a month of use, I was still doing a lot of searching to find the tool I wanted, then trying to feel for the correct nail nick to open it. The search was complicated by the tools I rarely used.

Because FB was so nice to give me this MiniChamp so I could try one, it is going to be one of the GAWs for winter.

I thought those were pizza, bacon, and beer!

Today's fun is opening a bag of crackers for a snack.
A very important task!

We decided to play inside with an assortment of action figures left over from one of my other kids.
Cool photo! :tu:

The challenge has come to a close for me, so it's time to give my thoughts on the MiniChamp. I liked having two blades available, and I wish Victorinox would make more extensive use of the emergency blade. 58mm scissors are very capable. The nail file is my preferred type, and I prefer the nail cleaner to the screwdriver.

However, I rarely have a use for the cut and picker blade, spatula, or screwdriver. The ruler is too small for most of the things I measure. Though I never needed one during this challenge, the 58mm combo tool can come in very handy. An Alox MiniChamp could be the last 58mm SAK I ever buy...but unless I run across one with a cool logo, I doubt I'll add any more Cellidor MiniChamps to the horde. The 74mm line has most of the tools I value in smaller SAKs in a size that I prefer.

As usual, the photos and banter were the best part of the challenge. A hearty thanks to awl the participants, and to Explorer for hosting the challenge (and amply demonstrating his flair for showmanship)!

Day 30

A changing of the guard as I move on to the Yeager memorial challenge. Thanks again to awl for a great challenge! :hatsoff:

Well Bella is definitely sad that November to Remember has come to a close. But what a great month with so many new uses and wonderful pictures under our belts. At only 58 mm the shadow that the mighty MiniChamp casts looms large. It’s plethora of uses and tiny footprint have emblazoned their mark on my mind. Basically to the point where I can’t not carry it.  :dunno:

:salute:   :salute: Congratulations to all that have finished this not so easy challenge
and big props to anyone who attempted this one- It certainly wasn’t an easy challenge and proved to be quite a learning experience.  :ahhh

Bella was sad- but the cuticle pusher will live to push another cuticle another day

Finished out this challenge using the main blade to open a package for a new microphone windscreen  :mail:

As far as the badge design let’s get a consensus from the group.
Thought the one that echotech made was cool so I’d vote for that one- what do y’awl think?

Day 30:

Well there it is. One month with the MiniChamp. The knife did admirably, but I have to admit that I felt a bit “under-knifed”, to the point that I was kind of ignoring tasks that really needed a larger knife. Babying many jobs as well. I think the MiniChamp works best for me as a secondary tool, a campion to something larger in either the 91mm or 93mm lines. But also fine as a knife to toss into my sweatpants pocket after settling in at night, after the larger work is done for the day.

Happy with whatever is decided and we can always apply for the “30 day 58, 65 and 74mm SAKs” badge if we don’t end up with a dedicated one

I’ve tidied up my effort and added a border in case you do want to give it a go

I hate to see these challenges end, especially this one.  I'll always love my MiniChamps.

That being said, I'm looking forward to another Chuck Yeager Memorial challenge, this month.

DAY 31 (Day 1 catch up)
So, as I was away for the 1st day of this I have provided a "catch up" pic  :twak:
I'm currently doing longer shifts having just got home at 11pm so the final act of the MC was to open a beer  :drink:

The MC is never going to be my only carry but it could be an additional. It will certainly be used throughout Dec' to assist with battery replacement for the many, many (so many) Xmas lights that Mrs Surge finds joy in  ::) It will awlso accompany me to Italy over the festive period where going "tooled up" is very hit and miss  :dunno:
Thanks once again to Explorer  :hatsoff: and congrats to awl who took part  :tu:

See you on another challenge (but not in Dec')  :salute:
