Cattaraugus Cutlery Knives

Lost a man who was like a grandfather to me on Friday. His son has been staying with us during the last week until his dad passed. He showed me this Cattaraugus Cutlery that was in his dad's pocket when he passed. He was a lifelong rancher and a Korea Veteran.

Never heard of them before, but I can tell it's quite old. Just thought I would share a potentially rare one.

Definitely a neat older piece, and looks like it has seen some use.  If it could talk, I expect it would have a few stories to tell.

Cattaraugus Cutlery ceased operations in 1963, so I would strongly suspect it is at least 60 years old.  However, Case acquired the trademarks and has since produced a few knives with the Cattaraugus Cutlery Company marks.

Cattaraugus was one of the great cutlery companies from the past. Don't think they made any pocket knives after 1940 or there abouts.

Neat old knife. It looks like it has Rogers bone handles which would date it no later than the late 1940's I would guess   :like:
