Day 1

Is it January already?   :ahhh  I probably won't be carrying or using anything today, but here is a pic of my companion for the month.  As a pocket carry guy, this one is going to be extra challenging because this big boy is extra-chonky and it doesn't have a pocket clip.  With all of the one-hand tools, there isn't even a good place to stick a Nite Ize HipClip.  :ahhh

Great photo Rich, I just noticed the pattern in the scales. Never noticed that before. Cool!

Thanks  :hatsoff:  I really like the scale patterns too... I wish more Leathermans did the same thing.  While most tools are fairly obvious, some you can't tell until you partly deploy them.

Day 1: Here we go!  One of my favorite tools on the OHT, the rescue tool.
That's the tool I like too.
For anyone looking to buy, I found out that Galls online store has the black OHT still in stock for $89.95.  Bought one myself a few weeks back.

Well, if it's okay, I'll go ahead and make a proper entry.   If not okay, I'll happily root from the sidelines.

A beautiful new Black OHT!

I just looked last night, and eBay had them priced across the spectrum.

So glad you are here to share your journey of learning your tool!

Day 2

Wow, time flies, seems as if yesterday was day 1🙄

Yes the  OHT is a handful,  true one handiness, from each implement to the pliers 😉

A little KPL (knife pivot lube) applied to each side of the handles, allows the pliers to slide like skates on a new sheet of ice😉

Day 2

The bad thing about long vacations is that they eventually end    I'm back to work this morning, and my 2 best friends are ready.

Day 2

Before being able to comfortably use the OHT, I had to spend some time rubbing off what was possibly black oxide residue?  :dunno:
It was a bit greasy, but now it is better.

My condolences for having to return to these conditions.  The oHT will help I am certain.
The coffee will provide the required boost to get started, that is coffee, isn’t it!😵‍💫

It was a bit greasy, but now it is better.

BO dust is a pain to clean off, I would  just soak in a small tub of dawn blue and warm water for a few hours, then rinse under pressure of sink sprayer, making a mess around the sink, or outdoors if warmer (it was never warmer)😜
Then dry with wife’s hair dryer, (if not mad from earlier, this really capped it off)

When dry, then oiled down wiping away access.  The BO  REBAR was the worst,  Then when through break end excersises, usually requiring a bandade or two.

I only have a few BO tools🙄 for some reason.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Thank you  :hatsoff:  My OHT is brand new too, so I was treated with the same thing.  Definitely black oxide residue.
