I've been a fan of Bob Newhart as long as I can recall.  My parents had (and listened to frequently) excerpts from The Button Down Mind on 45 and LP.  Then, in my youth, we never missed an episode of the Bob Newhart Show, and we laughed, as most people did as Bob tried desperately to keep up with the antics of Larry, his brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl.

I was just checking Wikipedia the other day to see if he was still alive, and I was so pleased to see he was still kicking.  I hadn't seen him do anything since his appearance on the Big Bang Theory a number of years ago.

And now, one of the greatest, funniest straight men in the business is gone.
