Winchester / Blue Grass Cutlery knives?
on: October 29, 2024, 02:41:00 PM
Hi all! I recently won a Winchester Stockman distributed by Blue Grass Cutlery, at an auction. I paid 70 dollars. The only link that I could find to this exact model is here: https://www.cutlerycorner.net/ProductInfo/CCN-111544/Wnchster-Sleigh-Bell-Special. You can find similar models with different shields for a more reasonable (still high) price at knifecenter.

The stag on this knife is really really good. Better than my GEC stag. I was surprised by how good it is. The snap on the main blade leaves a bit to be desired, but it’s acceptable. It is a thick and hefty knife compared to what I am used to out of a traditional. The other two are strong. The edges did not come sharp at all. Will have to fix that. Knife is made in Ohio according to everything I see.

There is not a whole lot of information about these out there. I wanted to share some photos and also ask if anyone could give me some more detail on what this knife actually is. I know Queen used to make knives for Blue Grass Cutlery, but they are out of business. The warranty card and box reads like Blue Grass is making their own stuff now. The tang is stamped 24 so I assume it has to be a recent production. Any and all info on this knife/company would be appreciated!! Please also feel free to share photos of knives you have from the same company.
