I'm going to pick up a clip for mine too.  I never carried a Leatherman with a clip prior to the Signal.  I like how it carried.  Gordon, that pic did it for me!

Serious question probably asked a million times already on this forum, but Why do so many here double up their MT carry with a SAK ?
Yes, yes, I know two is one and one is none, and I do carry a extra blade sometimes, but I really would like to understand your own reasoning, as my LMs have always been more than sufficient.
Isn't there a perfect redundancy in the toolsets ? Is there something your SAK does your MT can't ? Is it a question of getting out the right type of tool depending on the situation and surrounding people ? Having one you can loan out and one you wouldn't ?
Just wanted some enlightening from the great people in this challenge (or those following it).

I mainly carry SAK with my MT because it draws much less attention than bigger MT. Also scissors are usually much comfortable to use. Like today i carried MXBS and Esquire and i used Esquire scissors rather than MXBS scissors for small cutting jobs

:iagree: scissors are my most used tool everyday and victorinox scissors are more capable and more nimble to use and doesn't draw unwanted attension. More over    people are just complementing the colourful scales and admiring how practical those are. SAKs are so lightweight that I don't mind carrying a duplicate.

Most of the time one tool is sufficient, but there have been occasions where I need to hold one screw still with a screwdriver while using a second screwdriver to turn a second screw. Having a SAK to compliment a plier-based multitool can be handy,

I have used the pliers on a SwissChamp to hold a nut still while turning a bolt with the pliers of a Leatherman.

The multi-purpose hook on a Sak can be very useful as follows:

When I was working at a restaurant and a delivery driver dropped his keys down a grate that was 3 feet deep I used some paracord and tied it around my Super Tinker and lowered the SAK into the grate and hooked the key ring with the hook and retrieved his keys which included his truck keys and keys to various businesses. It was his first day as a delivery driver so he was relieved that he did not have to call in and tell his boss that he lost the keys down a drain.

The water heater in the basement of the restaurant leaked all over the floor and the moisture caused the wood door to the basement to swell so that it would not open. there was no door knob on the door so I used the hook to hook the slot where the latch slides and was able to pull the door open.

The hook has many uses to supplement another multitool.

And the Magnifying glass, tweezers, toothpick, and pen on a SwissChamp have been very useful and the Scissors on a 91 MM SAK are excellent.

Also I agree with Antti Lammi: "I mainly carry SAK with my MT because it draws much less attention than bigger MT. Also scissors are usually much comfortable to use."

Hopefully this makes sense for supplementing a plier-base multitool with a SAK. :)

Day 2 Thursday

Got stuck in the car for a few hours yesterday. The wife and I had to take a run up to Bellingham, Washington. After some appointments and to make sure all was well, we elected to stay the night. So no action shots,or Bond action today. The pocket clip worked awesome. Here is a beauty pick from the center console of my wife’s SUV.

Day 3 Friday

Got back home around noon today. Started back in on the painting project my wife and I started earlier this past week. Got another coat of paint one of the walls in the Dining Room and one of the walls in the Family Room. I also went ahead and used the Bond to pull picture hooks from some walls in the Family Room. I did use the large flat driver as a pry bar to open the can of paint.

Glad to be home and not stuck in the SUV for hours.

Day 3

Today highlighted why I prefer one-hand opening blades.  I wanted to cut some stubborn plastic that was holding 2 batteries together, and it took longer than normal to get to the Bond's blade then put it away again.  Even a traditional pocket knife would have been quicker.

Day 2

I wanted to get an action pic of the Bond helping out with the installation of a car charger. But my customer stuck by my side as if he was a Doberman Pinscher and I was wearing a pork chop necklace

But I did find a use for it this evening, tightening the feet/handles of my wife's electric skillet:

Oh, man, now I want a Bond!
I whipped up these. What do you think?
The red one is the badge. It's easy to make because it's big.
Which one of the three icons does everyone like for the signature display?

Nice job, RP!  :like:

I can't decided between icon #1 and icon #2

That used to not be a big deal for me. However, using my Southwire Edgeforce every work day for 2+ years has changed my perspective. It is quite nice to reach down to my pocket, grab my knife, and have the blade deployed as I bring my hand back up.

Went into work today and the store manager was battling with a jammed up stapler.  I said I had a Leatherman and took out the Bond.  Jam cleared and I think I've won a new Leatherman fan!

To the question about a SAK with a MT, I love SAK scissors much better, the big blade of the Executive cuts apples better than any MT to me because it is thinner,  usually just the right length, cleaner than my MT blade  and the Executive also has that nifty orange peeler :D plus I like having the tweezers and toothpick with me always

Just a few reasons off the top of my head and I am sure there are more ;) :tu:
