I'm dying to get a Spirit X (I'd probably be willing to trade my S for one). My only experience with BO tools was a Powerlock and I hated it. All it did was turn my hands black as the tool slowly became silver again lol. But the BO Spirits do look a bit nicer. So it's tempting. I'm also toying with the idea of a Swisstool, maybe an RS. And that Aussie military issue BO Swisstool looks awesome. Ah crap. It's happened. I'm addicted to Victorinox now.

I'm in  :ahhh :D :ahhh

Santa delivered a shiny new Spirit X today and I love it!

Excellent tool lineup, lovely quality all round and comfy in the hand. It really is a great tool and other than not having a lanyard ring or clip, it's perfect. I might stick one of those clips on that Tim has in as I don't tend to sheath carry stuff due to lady curves ;)

Really like it though  :D

 Welcome to the club lass. I really want a Spirit X, but I'll be getting a Swisstool X in the very near future so my scissor + PE blade desires should be sated for a while at least. I'm even selling my oh so beloved Surge to help finance it. Careful Nuphoria, the Spirit drove me completely to the Victorinox darkside, and after 10 years I have pretty much foresaken LM. Try not to stare too long into the Spirit's shiny polish lest it consume your soul.

I rig a lanyard to the corkscrew bracket whatevers . Btw the corkscrew is worth the price of admission too , plus it holds the ever nifty eyeglass screwdriver .

Anyway , welcome to the club !

I've just noticed mine is flawed... the engraved shield on the plier head is incomplete, and the cross as well...

The X hasn't got a corkscrew - I am missing something fun?

Oh no, absolutely. It's part of the 'plus' version. You know, wrench, bits and the corkscrew. I bought it separately on ebay. It's a must have, if you like wine (or if you wear glasses and you need the mini screwdriver). Thank god I love wine AND I wear glasses. :D ;)

it does look pretty minor , I've had Swisstools where the markings for the ruler were more faint on one handle then the other .

imho, it looks like the (laser?) etching was interrupted by something... but twice on the same plier head?

Speaking of little quirks, is it normal or common for the cap lifter/crate opener tool to have some vertical free play when it's closed? If I take mine in my fingernail it will move up and down a good bit before it catches and starts to open, and if I have it facing the ground I can push it up with a finger. It makes the tool rattle and click a little bit but it's nothing serious of course.

Just got mine in, it is the S version, with the pointless knife. It was advertised good as new and it was, very happy with it. Excellent build-quality, love the way it clicks. All this for a mere 50 euros for the knife and its holder, sadly no box.

Congrats  :D  If its the S version then it should have two blades ( one pointed and one blunt tipped ) . If it has just the blunt tip rounded blade then its a std and if its just got one pointed blade then its an X model .
