Black oxide finish?
on: March 18, 2009, 11:47:32 PM
How are your BO finish holding up? I want to see your badly worn BO pictures and hear what you think.
Do they still look nice to you as they get bumped and scarred?
Aside from being used in the tactical applications and an extra protection against rust, are there any benefits?

I have an old Charge Ti with what believe is a BO finish - it's chipped to hell round the edges but the rest doesn't seem to be peeling. I also have a Paratool which has a few scrapes in the finish but still looks good. I don't mind them looking worn as they are all users.

This one has seen better days:

It actually looks quite a lot worse in real life compare dto the picture, but it's silver in quite a few places.
I used to come here a lot.

I have acquired so many tools lately that I can't even remember where I got this  I haven't had it that long though.

Great collection there DaveK!! The one you posted earlier looks nicely seasoned as far as I can tell from the picture.

It's really badly worn that one, so it is actually bare stainless steel in places. It looks "lived in".

You don't see too many of them around now, this one was the only one I've had the opportunity to buy certainly. Cute isn't it :D

Am I the only one with a BO SOG?  If you are going to post this in the SOG section, at least have the decency to show the odd BO SOG tool!  :P

No problem, just another excuse to show off my GSA SOG :D

As for whether i like BO.....yes...yes i do! Even after a few knocks and scrapes i'd take a BO tool over a SS one most days :)
