A lot more ergonomic to use the additional tools on the Crunch than on the Schrade ST6 too  :D

Having said that, as a "locking pliers with extras" I do prefer the ST6 overall. Not that I'm knocking the Crunch, but as the other tools are very much secondary and I'm unlikely to pocket carry either, I think I'd prefer to find the Vise Grips format in my toolbox/glove compartment rather than the Crunch

I wonder how difficult it would be to talk Mat out of his 5WR.
He'll find another one easily enough I reckon  :P :D :D

Al you are killing me     :D.

Funny you should mention the 5WR  :o I got my second one a week or so ago  :o.
I did used to use my 6LC occasionally , not sure I am so comfortable now days though   , they are going for CRAZY money lately  :o.
The ST6 is my least favoured of the 3 , I am not such a fan of such Long n straight gripping jaws  :-\ :-\ :-\.

The Crunch was my first "good" multitool, having previously owned a couple cheaper knock-off tools. Whenever I'm going to check something out on a vehicle or around the house I grab my Crunch sheath which has various Torx bits, a couple Philips bits, 1/4" socket driver, 1/4" bit holder.

My Crunch has been a useful companion for my projects, and has saved me a lot of time that would have been spent walking back-and-forth to my toolbox. The Crunch has done things most other multis cannot do. It is hands down, my favorite multitool. It doesn't do everything, but it's the first one I grab when I'm going to look at something.

TWO 5WRs  :ahhh :ahhh If you decide you only want one of them mate, give me a :pok: :D Is the 6LC the one that looks like a multipurpose leg iron   :P - That's the one that would be no good to me. I must admit I do like long needle nosed pliers and blunt nosed. I do try to keep multi's with both at home and down at the boat.

I started carrying Crunch at work when we had few back to back calls of kids with partial amputation of fingers that got stuck in a front bicycle crank when they were trying to put the chain back on. I bought the Gerber version of Crunch first thinking that newer must be better (wrong). I carry it and it got my pts and me out of some dicey situations. Pretty good tool for what it is.

I love my Crunch; it's easily my favorite Leatherman, even if it is my least used one.  But, having it when I need it makes it all worth while.

I keep it in my bike toolkit with a 4" adjustable wrench.  I'm considering adding one of those Topeak ratchet kits to it as well.  I honestly haven't needed anything more than the stuff to fix a flat in several years, but I know what will happen if I stop carrying that stuff...

Yes.  There's a small groove cut into the lower jaw to work as a pin vise.  It's not very large though, so I doubt it'd work well with anything over about 1/8" diameter.

Had to send my crunch and charge into leatherman due to a bad lock an a broken can opener. In two weeks these gems arrived, they are both almost perfect. Has anyone had any problems with the crunch ?

The crunch is my most used EDC the only changes i would make is get rid of the lanyard ring because it makes it a pain to use the screwdriver when you have a chord hanging from it and have a scratch awl but that would require magic to have one and keep the slim size
If you edc the crunch for a while and go back to a wave you will notice the weight and bulky ness  if the wave real quick
Side note I wish they would use the crunch lanyard ring on the fuse and blast there ring are way to big

is that a Ti???  If it's a TTi with normal pliers then you have a gem there.  Heck, if it's a Ti it's a gem.

My Crunch has been bulletproof so far.  I don't use it all that often, but when I do, it's pretty hard use.  But still, no problems at all in the year+ that I've had it.

I've had one for about 8 years now, they are hard to find where I live.  I use it as a compliment to whatever multitol I'm carrying for the day.

If only the Crunch has a diamond file. Was debating on making another awl from the smaller flatbit driver, but my SAKs have me covered on awls now.  :D

How much is the Crunch going for in the US at the moment? There seem to be going for £100 in the UK. That is US$150. Has Leatherman ceased production on the Crunch?

The Crunch is very much alive and well in production the last time I checked. Looks like it goes anywhere from $75-$100US. It just depends on where you can find them.

Amazing that it's still going, as I've never even heard of them outside this forum and LM's website.  None of the stores in my area carry much more than ST300's, Waves, and Rebars.  I love my crunch and carry it every day, I can't imagine they would retire it.

Sadly I can if they are not making money on them . I suspect LM does not move a lot of Crunch's  so if for what ever reason LM needed to reduce their product range .....

I hope not because it would have to be one of the cleverest designs that works terrifically well.
As LM brings out new models they do tend to retire older ones , I sure hope the Crunch keeps kicking on

I think there is some solidarity to it that will guarantee it's place in the line up for a while.  I hope at least.  Leatherman has retired some awesome tools though, so you never know.

Have intelligence from a good source that said the Crunch was more along the lines of one of Tim Leatherman's original ideas. If anything it might get better. Past that I doubt it will fade away without something even more awesome to replace it.

The other reason why the Crunch is not selling well is because there is now a Crunch clone, which sells for a fraction of the price of the Crunch, i.e. under £9. I've just bought one and will report back on the quality of it.
