Anyone else like wearing a timepiece on a neck lanyard?

Last Christmas I was gifted with a little fisherman's watch from Cabelas.  Came with a nice lobster style clip attached for hanging from belt loops and fishing vests.

After a month's worth of carrying it on belt loops, I removed the lobster clip and attached the timepiece to my paracord neck lanyard.

Now my neck lanyard has:
-timepiece.
-Streamlight Nano.
-little tiny Buck lockback knife.

The whole rig rides discreetly under a shirt - hardly notice it's there until I need to check the time.

Best of all my neck lanyard timepiece doesn't get scratched up and destroyed, like my wrissmurfches always do eventually.

I'm a bit to paranoid to wear something like that, as there are far to many people who'd love to strangle me :-\

Of course there's lots of people wanting to strangle you, Micky d.  Your basic personality type - the 'nature of the beast' if you will - guarantees that most people will want to strangle you eventually.  ;>

I don't like having things around my wrist so I have considered some kind of fob.  Have you got a picture of the watch?

I've always liked the idea of putting a bunch of stuff on a neck cord.  Kind of urban tribal  (can I copyright that  :P )  but with metal stuff instead of mammoth tusks and shrunken heads.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

That's exactly why I wouldn't wear one.  I'd be dead in a week at my work.  :D

I sometimes wear a carabiner type watch on a break-away necklace. I love my G-shock to much to wear it all the time though.

Cabelas no longer seems to offer the exact model I got for Xmas.

Came with a clip like this one:
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602008-cat20672&id=0016914616579a&navCount=7&podId=0016914&parentId=cat20672&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=XK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233

But has a liquid filled compass built into the body more like this one:
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602008-cat20672&id=0019502617498a&navCount=1&podId=0019502&parentId=cat20672&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=QZ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true

Thanks, I've seen variations on that kind of design locally but all looked a little shabby and were very much overpriced.  I saw a nice old one at a carboot sale but it again was a little too rich for my blood.

You and micky d are closely associated in my mind.

Probably because:

-you two commonly bicker back and forth endlessly, polluting good threads in the process.  ;>

-and when not bickering, you two get all lovey dovey about spending time together in a tent.  ;>

At last the truth comes out - like in Brokeback Mountain.

Is your wife aware of the 'special' relationship between you and micky d?

She's too focussed on the increasing number of sharps coming into her house to notice.  :D

With all those sharps around the house, you'd better hope she doesn't take after Lorena Bobbit - after she finds out the truth about you and micky d.  ;>
