I have used my multitool every day on and off work.

I'll try to get a post here letting you know what I'm up to

today

swisstool RS at work.

I removed some old broken commercial clothes dryers in a closed laundry that I'm turning into a storage building. Cut power wires, removed wire brackets, capped some gas lines. It took a pipe wrench to remove the gas lines.

tonight I used leatherman charge tti

cut open a plastic package, used the Phillips on my screen door

I just used my PSTII pliers to remove an envelope that was jammed inside our folding/inserting machine here at work.  It was in a hard to reach area (most areas in this machine are hard to reach with just my hands), so I pulled out the PSTII and used the tip to grab what little bit I could and slowly work the envelope out of the jammed up area.  This is an example of me needing the more needlenose like Leatherman pliers as opposed to the Spirit's pliers for this type of finer work.  However, like a fool, I am carrying my Spirit as well, and should have tried it out to see how it would have been able to handle this issue.  I think another contributing factor was how slim the PSTII is, which allowed me to maneuver it just right to get to the envelope.  Good job to my PSTII :tu:

I used my Wingman to work on my BuckTool display.

I used the file to smooth the hole for the power cord. The pliers to hold a couple of bolts.

Just had to use my Pioneer to break into my own home ::)  We decided to go for a family walk and locked the door, but forgot the key.  I was able to pry the back door open with the bottle opener/flathead and let the girls in ;)

Yes indeed.  That bottle opener/flathead is a rather solid prybar really.  I did a lot of prying with it on the front door first, then the back door.  Not a scratch on it, but I may have a tiny chip in the black color.  That's the price I pay I guess ;)

MT: SOG PowerAssist
TASK: fixed the broken plug off an extension cable
RATING: 9 out of 10

*i guess my leatherman squirt PS4 would've been sufficient but the SOG was the one within reach

also installed some fixtures with:

MT: Leatherman Skeletool CX
Task: Installing hooks
Rating: 7/10

I think I really need to get an Octane

I tightened up some cabinets with my ST200.  I swear the owner of my condo is a DIY moron.  There are paint lines on every wall from poor masking, all the towel racks were loose when we moved in, and there is no cover on the fan light in my bedroom.  With the hardware that was with it there is no way it would fit on the fixture.  Constant projects for me!

I used my Spirit to remove a broken coldroom controller from a coldroom (it had decided to to freeze all the cheese inside and wasn't sure whether it was -10 or +20C, it was actually -3) and replace it with something that used to be controlling a boiler on the farm. A mixture of removing the old box, mounting a new one and doing a load of electrical work.

I've set up alarms in all the stores so they send out an alarm text if they stop working and go over temperature, but never thought to put an equivalent under temperature alarm in!

It wasn't how I planned to spend a decent chunk of my day but it needed doing.

Used my Spirit to fix the head on my bicycle tire pump.  Had to push out a pin using the awl, when the pin was a few mm out I used the pliers to pull it out all the way, took out a handle, and took out the rubber beneath it so I could place it back in the right position again, placed all the parts back together and it works like a charm again.

Today was a multi type of day. The better half's grandmother passed away two weeks ago, and the service was just yesterday. Today, my wife, my in-laws, and myself went over to her place to pack up some things. Not knowing what I had in store, I grabbed my tool bag that I keep in the house, for when I don't want to run out to the garage for my proper tool box. It contains assorted drivers, hex keys, wrenches, pliers, a hammer, etc. It also houses my Charge TTi. With so many other dedicated tools in the bag, I don't know why I keep it there, but I do. And it came in handy today.

One of the items we were removing was a full-length, green cloth couch. It was in the far back of the house, and wouldn't fit through the door frame without us removing the feet, which are held onto the couch via a recessed bolt. Unfortunately, the hex bits for my ratcheting bit driver weren't quite big enough, I don't have a ratchet set in there, and I couldn't fit a wrench or Channelock into the hole. So, I rummaged through my bag, trying to figure out how to Mickey Mouse a solution. I finally settled on the TTi, the only pair of needlenose pliers in there. Since they are tapered, I was able to get a slight grip around each bolt, turning it slightly each time. As the bolts moved outward, I was able to get a better grip, and turn them even better. It took a while, but I was able to get them all out, and the couch into my Pilot.

There were some shelves to disassemble as well. The wife and I teamed up with a phillips driver and the TTI to make short work on them.

Finally, after getting the couch to our house, I reattached the feet using the same method. Only I couldn't quite tighten them up with the TTi (no grip when they're that far in). So, I used a Squirt PS4. I was half expected it to pop from the lateral force, but it snugged those bolts down like a champ.

So, all in all, it was a productive day for my multitools, and saved us a 60 minute round trip from getting proper tools.

This was actually yesterday, but forgot to post it.  Nothing major, but just used the small blade on the Executive to cut out the seal on a bottle of tums.

Got some serious multitool time in doing yard work yesterday. Rigged up a new rain barrel hooked into our gutter. Used the awl on my Spirit to drill a pilot hole in a steel trash can. Kinda trashed the awl, but it worked GREAT. Then I rammed the pliers of my old beater Surge in the hole and took a hammer to the handles to drive the thing in far enough to stretch the hole to be able to run a hose through it. The Spirit's wire cutters were used to cut through the nylon reinforcement string/wire thing in the hose while trimming it down. Then I used the Surge's diamond file to fix the Spirit's awl. Some good, hard use (abuse?), nothing broke, got the job done. I even dropped the Surge into a puddle for a couple minutes and it didn't instantly turn to rust :P

Actually used the orange peeler on my Minichamp to peel an orange.  Kind of an enlightening moment.

Well, enlightening in "Hey, I've never tried to actually do this and wow it works really well!"

I took a power lock to work I used it to fix a bunch of mail boxs, strip some wires on a trailer, made a starter hole for a hook hanger, pliers to hold some bolts.

Tonight a pocket plier after work fixed up the grill up for summer.

This weekend my Octane and Ranger 14 were on gardening duty:

Cutting landscaping fabric, opening packages and compost bags, cutting zip ties, trimming hose, fitting hose clamps (jubilee clips), pruning tomatoes and peppers, wire cutting, bending the eye on a hanging basket, piercing polythene, clearing expanding foam round pipework, pulling hoses through a wall, cutting up polystyrene to free plug plants, reaming drainage holes, opening beers, building an ornamental arch for peas to climb one side and raspberries the other, fitting a trellis for training kiwi fruit vines.

It's been one of those weekend which proves just how versatile and time saving these toys of ours really can be :drink:

the orange fuse was a rockstar today. Changed the belt[rubber band] on the ole vacume. Put a new single pole switch in the den. installed a  3-way selector on the parlor rod iron lamp. Tightened up my dresser drawer knobs again. Cut doggy joint pills into quarters. It tool some will power not to grab a dedicated tool, but the crap is done.
