Since we upgraded to LCD screens the cats don't climb on the desks as much... there was a lot of nice warm space to sit when I had a 19inch CRT tho. The sub is with my 50eur Altec Lansing speakers... ( http://www.alteclansing.com/index.php?file=north_product_detail&iproduct_id=vs2421 ) they have  better sound than most of the 2.1 PC speaker setups that cost twice as much... so much so, even my brother in law got the exact same pair, the sub is great, takes up very little room but still has some kick :D

slick... I've been thinking about a 2nd screen for a while now that I have a new Beast... it's gonna have to wait until I get some more high paying projects or the wife upgrades her screen... which only means I'll get a smaller 2nd screen...

Clearly you don't pay the leccy bill :D

Well no, but tft's are very efficient :) I'd guess it probably costs about £3 a week to run it all, all the time and running flat out which it very rarely is, so it'd be less than that :)

btw, nice little mixing desk... we have a Behringer Eurorack MXB1002 which is probably quite similar except we have faders for all the channels...

While i'm not a huge fan of behringer gear for "mission critical" devices they do make affordable stuff that for most people will do the job nicely, it's survived about 3yrs of near constant use so i'm quite happy with it. Faders would be nice but a little excessive for just a couple of computers and my mp3 player. Got a 24 channel one say at home home waiting to be put into a churches PA system (when that gets upgraded ::) )

I still prefer this one though! :D Shame i don't get to use it very often :(

How you liking the NC10? I would rather like one, and think i'd prefer it over an EeeeeeeePC

I love it. Fast, connects well and has a good screen. It's relly quiet too and doesn't seem to get hot easily. Battery life is great too, especially if you have the brightness down a bit.
Mine has a 2gb upgrade which is well worth a quid extra and easy to do yourself. The only caveat I would mention is that being a slightly smaller keyboard then usual, it's probably not great for anyone with BIG butch hands - I'm a girl so that's not a prob.

That desk would be overkill for our needs... we just use it to mix two mics and a phone unit to our broadcast software... faders are a bit overkill for us too, but it's nice to be able to tweak levels on the fly, and the wife is used to using a rather larger broadcast desk... We got ours with the thought that perhaps we might also get a couple pro CD decks but in the end the software we use ended up doing pretty much everything.

A bit of a shuffle around, rotated my left most screen, I wish i'd done it a while ago, gives me a much better reading screen than when it was landscape :)

Nice set up Roadie.

I have two computer stations one upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs one I don't tend to use very often, doing most of my work on the lower station just because it is convenient. I haven't done any upgrading in a year’s time, but then I haven't seen any software out there that needs me to upgrade them possibly anytime soon.

Upstairs computer:

(Hand built computer)
-Intel Q9450 CPU.
-4 Gigs of OCZ 1600MHz DDR3 RAM.
-2-ATI 4870 video cards.
-Asus Rage Extreme motherboard.
-Thermaltake Mozart XT case.
-10 Asus blue LED 12cm cooling fans.
-Cooler Master 1000W power supply.
-Soundblaster X-FI soundcard.
-HP 24" LCD.
-Logitech G15 keyboard.
-Logitech G7 mouse, Logitech MX Revolution mouse.
-Wacome Intuos3 6x11 tablet.
-Logitech 530 5.1 speakers.
-2 LG DVD burners (one Blueray burner).
-3 1/2" bay card reader.
-2 Western Digital Raptor 150s, 2 Maxtor 200s
-1 500 Seagate Free Agent Pro backup drive.

Downstairs Computer:

(Hand built computer)
-Intel E6600 CPU.
-2 gigs of Corsair 800MHZ RAM.
-1 Asus ENGtX280 graphic card.
-Samsung 24" SyncMaster 2493HM
-Asus Striker Extreme mother board.
-Antec 900 computer case.
-3 Antec Blue LED 12cm case fans, 1 14cm case fan.
-Seasonic S12+ 650W Power supply.
-Razer Lachesis mouse, Microsoft X6 Sidewinder keyboard.
-Logitech Inspire 5300 5.1 speakers.
-1 LG DVD burner.
-2 Western Digital velociraptor 300Gig HDs.

In the spirit of things...here are the photographs.

The bottom computer station that I spend 90% of my time on.

And the second floor office space. Since I didn't tidy up as much as I would like to, guess photographs of the computer will have to do.

It's an older model and can be a bit cranky at times.  For some reason, it likes to randomly launch missiles at the USSR...

They do look very similar. Note the absence of the small silver round button on the lower right. I wish mine had buttons to be honest.

Hmm finding decent wallpapers was hard before, now it's a whole 'nother kind of hard! Got to find ones with enough horizontal AND vertical resolution that don't have the focal point at the centre as the extra height of the portrait monitor shifts the image up so i need ones with images focused on the left (or right, can flip them) :-\ Or just abstract ones, but not a big fan of them. Any suggestions!? 3600 * 1280 (ish)
