I upgraded from 10.4 to 10.5 and was less than overwhelmed, not even regular whelmed.

I basically don't trust most upgrades, Mac or Otherwise.
Usually they fix one or two small issues than annoy me, then add 32 glossy new features I couldn't give a rats arse about.


Also, Steve Jobs makes more money than me, so bugger that!

I`ll get it, like I get all mayor updates on MacOS. I do skip versions of iWork and iLife, but I want my OS to be as up-to-date as possible.

have to admit, $25 is a pretty good price... one wonders when Microsoft will catch on... oh wait, you can only run osx on a mac... any ways, I'll stick to my Ubuntu, it was free... (well plus the cost of a blank DVD/CD)

I have tried OSX-x86 and failed in virtual machines, mainly doing it out of curiosity... Considering I setup (and compiled from the beginning) Gentoo linux a few times... that's quite a feat to fail...

There's been quite a boon recently in people making Hackintoshes from netbooks, there is even a company selling them with it preinstalled (how long that will last is anyones guess) but yeah it's not a simple process generally.

Same here. Ubuntu isn't perfect, but it is quite good and free of charge. Lots of great open source software. If Apple would just put out a version of ITunes for Ubuntu, I'd never look back.

My Snow Leopard is working out well , I see quite an increment in speed , so far it's $35.00 Can. well spent.

Wow, that's cheap! My wife has a nice Macbook that is only a couple of months old. I love that thing! I built a new rig back in March. It is dual booted with XP and Vista. I think maybe I will do a little research and see if my hardware is compatible. If it is, I will slap another hard drive in here and triple boot this beast.
