What bag do you use?
on: September 18, 2009, 03:16:05 PM
My name is Christine and I have a fairly serious bag fetish.

I'm always looking for the perfect one for EDC purposes and for more extended use too. So far I have been through dozens and had to recently reject my Maxped Jumbo  :o ... shocking I know! It's just too big and heavy on one shoulder for me when loaded up. I did some customisation on it too which works well (I'll be selling it soon when I take pics).

So what do you carry on a daily basis? Have you found your bag nirvana or are you still looking? Let's share the love/pics/opinions peeps  :D

Here's the one I have been using for a few months:

http://www.buy.com/prod/victorinox-flex-pack-mini-backpack/q/loc/16234/202242603.html

I love this bag lots, it's extremely well made and very compact. It's nice to have a SAK bag too of course ;)
The ratchet strap thing means you can convert it from a shoulder bag to a backpack very easily. This system does make the top of the back a little heavy but this is of no consequence whilst carrying it. It has a few pockets and compartments to organise your stuffs in - essential for my OCD!
If you're after one of these they can be found on ebay for a lot cheaper now and again - I think mine about £20. There is also a newer similar model called the Vertical Travel Companion I think.

Being easily distracted, I just saw a nice little camo bag the other day and had to buy it... oopsy :D
I wanted another similar size bag just to throw over my shoulder with a little more tactical look so this one seemed to fit the bill:

http://www.uxcell.com/camouflage-military-combat-canvas-shoulder-bag-p-8601.html

It looks like good value but I will of course have to report on that when it arrives in a week or so. For that money I'm not expecting too much, but it seems to have enough pockets and straps to keep me amused for a while  ;)

So, what y'all hauling around then?  :pok:

My bag for the last few months has been this;

It's the Remora Gearslinger by Maxpedition and lucky enough for me holds absolutely everything I want in a nice compact package so I have no lust at all for another.  :D  It really is a great bag.
I'm back!!

I used to go for the tacticool (See below) now I tend to go for the "over the shoulder, canvas, battered indiana jones" type....so as I can "blend in" a bit more

I use an 11L Black Diamond Bbee bag, which is supposed to be a minimalist climbers daypack. But I use it for school, since I don't carry textbooks around. Fits my Macbook, spiral ring notebook, and whatever else I need for a day at university. :tu:

I've got the same bag.  Fit's my netbook perfectly, along with my EDC knives, flashlights, and multi's.  I attached a Maxped Mini Rolypoly to the side of mine for a bottle holder.

I have a couple of Grimlocks on the sides so I can attach my gloves and also hang my Jetboil, but apart from that the size suits me well.
I'm back!!

I use the Jack Bauer messenger bag. Very minimalistic yet fits my needs perfectly. And like Jack Bauer, whatever tough situation I'm in, there is always something in the bag to get me out of a jam  8)

I got one of these from Staples in Canada, except mine is black and red...

as you can see here:

It's a laptop bag for 15.4" laptops (my 15.6" fits!) with lots of useful compartments as well as a pocket for mp3 player etc... pretty comfortable too!

I'm really glad I picked it up while I was in Canada, there's nothing even close here, so I definitely have a rare bag for europe :)
