I have a huge Delsey bag/case for work, and a Maxpedition Thermite Versipak the rest of the time.

I used to come here a lot.

I think the cheap thing I just ordered is a copy of the Proteus - will have to see how it compares.

Not very tacticool but a great bit of leather, plus it has room for all my junk and space left over for all the extra stuff you need when you have a young daughter.

That is a nice leather bag Gareth. It reminds me of my secondary school time, in that time such bags were kind of standard issue bags for Dutch school children. Nobody liked them, because we were forced to use them, but in fact they were great bags.

I have a HUGE Crumpler New York Warehouse (HUGE!!!!!), a much smaller Urban Tool SlotBaron (great for my light summer carry) and an Oakley messenger bag (like it). I rotate them, so I carry whatever fits my needs for the day best.

I carry the Swiss gear backpack (holds a 17" laptop, prewired for an IPOD) for work and an Avery Finisher blind bag in my truck for other gear.

For work, I simply use a laptop backpack I won at work last year.  Works very well.
I also have a Swiss Gear one that is also nice, but not enough storage places for all the extra crap I lug around.

My "I'm off to the airport to watch planes" bag is a Travel All Shoulder Bag from Mountain Equipment Co-op.

What I really want is a mini bail out bag, but I can't find an affordable one at a shop that will ship to Canada.
