Here are my initial thoughts of the Fallkniven U1 which was speedily sent to me by Magic Bus on here

I have not had enough time yet to use it daily and see how well it holds its sharpness etc, but my thoughts on the U1 knife are as follows...
First things first, the cordura belt sheath. It’s a great size due to the fairly small size of the actual knife. Being smaller than most multitool sheaths, I really don’t have a problem with having this on my belt at work etc. Even with the knife in, it is narrow and fits very snuggy on my belt. It has a nice ‘U’ logo on the front of it and seems well made.
The knife itself... At approx 62g, it seems an ideal weight to me. It doesn’t feel heavy but feels very solid at the same time. There is a nice lanyard on the knife at the moment, which I presume Magic Bus created, nice work. This is needed because when in the pouch there is very little to grab the knife out with as it sits deeply in the pouch. A lanyard is a must IMO.
The blade opens very smoothly with a nice snap, not quite as much as you’d get from most SAK’s but not far off. Once open, there is no play in the blade at all, everything seems very solid and stable. It has the Fallkniven stamp on one side which states model and steel type, in this case U1 and 3G Steel. The knife sits very nice in my hand, there are no large finger holes on the handle, just a slight curve, perfect

The blade has been well looked after and has a very nice smooth and shiny finish which looks great. Also on the blade you can see that it has the lamination line, which I actually really like. I know a few people have moaned about this, but I think it adds a bit of character and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. The U1 blade is still very sharp and cuts all of the things I quickly tested, with ease. The blade length at 62mm is just right for me. I’m not going to be hacking away at thick pieces of wood and cutting rope all day, so for EDC and small/light daily tasks its ideal.
The wooden handles are very nice too. Each panel is held on by two torx screws and they can be easily removed. I personally won’t be changing them as I like the look and feel of them and they are very comfortable when using the knife.
Overall I can honestly say it has quickly become one of my favourites. Also being UK legal is a big bonus for me, as it means I can take it to most places without worrying too much. These knives from Fallkniven are top quality and I really wouldn’t hesitate buying another Fallkniven in the future.
Here are some pics of the knife, thanks for reading.
