Loving the Spyderco Sage
on: October 28, 2009, 02:31:17 AM
Here are some shots of the Sage. Man I love this knife. The quality is amazing. Everything is done great. From the basket weave type carbon fiber to the razor sharp S30V blade to the fact that they polished everything down to the liners.

I like how they sunk the screws into the CF scales.

Nice touch with the hour glass shaped spacers

Close-up of the CF scales. They have a really nice texture to them. Like holding a woven basket. Just has good and I think better than G10.

At first I wasn't to sure about the wire clip but I really have come to like it. Rides low in the pocket and holds the knife in place really well.

Just an example of how well everything fits in place and is so well polished.

Here are some final shots of the Sage with a Native and in the hand. All in all a amazing knife from Spyderco.

Cool pics, that's a really hot looking blade. I'm excited for the next iteration with the bolt-action lock. Should be right up my alley, since it's a lefty-friendly lock.

Do you have a caly 3 to compare to? I wonder how they stack up, since caly 3 is getting discontinued and this is so similar in shape/size and probably intended as replacement.

Thanks Spoonrobot. The Sage 3 does sound interesting. Your right. The ambidextrous lock should suit leftys well.

I have no Caly 3 I'm afraid.

Very nice indeed. I love that style clip, it does sit nice and low and seems to stay in shape :)

I missed a thread earlier today discussing country of origin of various Spydercos. I just want to add that the Sage is an amazing knife from Spyderco and is made in Taiwan. I just got started collecting Spydercos this year but I have 8 of them now. 4 from the US, 1 from Japan, 2 from Taiwan and 1 from China and the only one that can compare in terms of quality to the Sage is the Manix2 which is made in Golden, Co.
