Custom anodized Blue Charge TTi on the bay

I'm going to be watching this one, but I haven't decided if I am going to bid on it.  Looks quite cool though.

Nice!

But not nearly as pretty as the blue Multitool.org Charges!  :D

No doubt the blue and green one are gorgeous, but I doubt one of those will come up for sale anytime soon.

Man I constantly wish I was a member back then. I would dearly love to add those to my collection.

Which one(s) are you interested in?  There's nothing there (except the black one which was a gift from Leatherman and has my name on the opposite side!) that couldn't be re-created if there was enough interest.

I see a distinct lack of Victorinox MultiTool.org options. :P

We could do Victorinox models (and/or Wenger models) but we do those every year with SOSAK:

True enough.  With that said, the Victorinox one could always be a BO Spirit X without Cap Crimper. ;)

I think they were $130 or so- it was a while back and I honestly can't remember.

Prices on future runs would depend on what we could get the Charges for.

I'd be in for a green one.  Maybe if we generate enough interest we could do an original group buy on a Charge TTi then we'd have a good batch for the anodized.  Should be open only to Charter members though?

How many would interested in something like this?

I don't speak for Def, but ultimately he is allowing a Multitool.org badged Charge to be created.  So I think he has the right to expect that all specimens would be new and thus collectible to preserve his "brand" and insist that Charge be brand new.

But maybe you are on to something, maybe we can just provide the scales only and have them anodized and not have serial numbers applied.  Sort of a limited run of non-serialized scales.

I personally would prefer to purchase a new Charge and get a truly collectible unit.

That's an idea that comes up every year with the SOSAK knives- someone always asks if they could just get the scales and put them on their knife of choice, and unfortunately, that's just not feasible.  Still, anything is possible, so keep the ideas coming!

I wasn't trying to single you out as a non-charter member, I thought you were actually.  I was just looking for a way to look after Def for hosting the site.  No offense intended though.

My fault for not finishing my thought.

Let me try that again...

If/when we do things like this, I want them to be available to all members.  Charter members however get first grab, especially if there's a limited quantity, plus I usually work out some kind of discount for Charter Members.

So, Charter Members do have privileges, but not at the expense of regular members.  I hate the thought of people missing out simply because they don't have the cash flow that others might.

Just to say - I'd be interested in both a blue and green Charge if another run goes through.  Perhaps its worth opening a thread in the general tool discussion forum to see if anyone is interested?
