They look identical: G10 handles, stainless linear locks and 8Cr13Mov blade

I really like the look of the Persistence as well.  As for the steel I have a Cara Cara with the same and have had no issues with it at all.  Not a "super steel" perhaps (if that means anything), but it certainly takes an edge and holds it well enough. :tu:

I agree, 8Cr13Mov is not bad at all.  The steel on my Byrd Raven holds up very well.
This is called a Swiss Army Knife. Do you know what Switzerland is? Switzerland is a place where they don't like to fight, so they get people to do their fighting for them while they ski and eat chocolate. - Larry David

Good for you on grabbing two good knives at great value.  I bought two and gave them away as gifts
to non-knife guys and the third which was the Persistence was bought for another friend so it didn't
stay long in the family.
I like the steel works well for me.  :)

Yup, my Meadowlarks are just fine. Easy to sharpen too.
I used to come here a lot.

Indeed they are Dave.  I have been carrying the Meadowlark for the last two weeks at work.  Mine is the
rescue version and it's a fantastic little combo edged blade that performs very well and I haven't cut or
stabbed myself with it either.  :D

I'm at work right now.  I've probably really jinxed it, I'll be running for the first aid
kit soon!  :D
