$150 (USD)!!! Ouch!!!
Looks nice but it uses a Luxeon LED.
There are better LED choices out there like Cree, SSC and Luminus Devices. Pretty bright though if it is at all accurate (198 lumens).
meh... I may still get one. I have like 50 LED lights as it is now.

True. I have a few. MagLite's latest MiniMag, 2D and 3D use Rebels and I like them, buuuut there are better LED's available.

There are two things wrong with this flashlight:
1. It does not have gears. All real SOGs have gears!
2. It needs more SOGs. There should be more SOGs than I can reasonably expect to count on their products.

I saw that one not so long ago.
That
exact
same flashlight is sold under the "
Brite Strike
" name for a similarly steep price; it's also sold under 3~4 more names for prices ranging from low $40's to the $120's.
I almost got into a group buy at CPF
(a flashlight forum)
for this light and it was being offered for around $40 ish.
It's a good looking aggressively styled light... but I, personally, wouldn't pay that much for it.
I mean....for that much money one could get a Surefire or a Fenix, Nitecore, etc. which are all OUTSTANDING quality lights.
Heck... one could easily get 2~3 quality lights.
just my 'first' 2¢

I saw this when it first popped up in my email inbox. I find it embarassing for the company, similar to the Smith & Wesson rebranded knives and flashlights. Gerber and Leatherman have done it right with their lights, at least their designs are original and generally different enough to warrant a second look. The SOG just smacks of laziness or a lack of creativity on the part of SOG.
And that price!

I can almost guarantee though that in the real world you'll be able to buy it for like $75. I find that SOG tends to list most of their stuff at about double what you can actually buy them for at most online retailers. At $75ish it's at least semi-reasonable. I still wouldn't buy one though.

The JETBeam Jet-I Pro v3 is a much better light for half the price, and it will out-throw and out-lumen (Cree R2 emitter) the SOG if using a LiIon 14500 (which it is rated for safely) and also takes a standard AA battery. Plus it has the programmable IBS system which lets you choose any custom light level for each of the 3 settings. Want it to come on high level first? Done. Start on low first? Done. Low level is really low too. You can even choose the strobe frequency and lock on at whichever one you want; beacon modes, etc. Sounds complicated but it's actually about a 10-minute learning curve, more or less. Plus the build quality is outstanding.
That said, I have a few lights with Rebels in them (Fenix L0D and L2D) and won't give them up.

+1. I had the v2. I really like JETbeams I.B.S. system. being able to program the strobe and SOS out of the mode cycle or in as needed is brilliant. It's there should you actually need it for something, but you don't have to deal with cycling past it every time you change brightness settings.
